dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 24This is such a sweet ending. I really like Rikuo's attack reflect that he needs everyone, he needs the Hyakki Yagyo that's behind him. It was great reflection from his training. And even though it is an open one, I feel like this is good place to stop and pause for the series. I really like seeing everyone together as shown at the end, even the paranormal club, which again as I said before, is an unnecessary part of this season. But beside that, I really enjoy watching this series, feels like a blast from the past lol. And that ending reflecting the first epiosde is a chef kiss.
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 23We finally get the whole picture of that flashback that had been teased since the first episode. The full story felt bittersweet and understandable. It is sad hearing how she became Hagoromo's vessel, which is why I understood why Rikuo reacted as little as he did. Even though we saw little of Rikuo's father, I feel like I understood his feeling, even until when he died, which is sad, in a way. With that being said, I think that ending was more than hype enough for the finale after this, which is making me pumped!
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 22I feel like the animation budged was doubled this episode. The movements are crisp and fluid. The falling pieces from the shell are very cinematic, especially the scene where Hagoromo looked at a piece that fell behind Rikuo. And my girl Yura got her moment too, which is a win in my book! For the plot twist of someone pulling the string behind the scene, I think it was already out in the open from episodes ago, but the see the reveal and how people reacted was definitely dramatic and entertaining.
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 21I really feel the hype in this episode. There's so much things that I feel like I didn't see coming, which is great. The fights are great, there's some match up that's I wanted to see so bad, especially the duo Kubinashi and Itaku. And that twist with the Hagoromo was quite shocking, even though I thought of it as some point, but still a surprising one. And to add to everything, the ending was really ominous, which makes me scared to watch what's about to happen next.
dvinter★★★★☆VerifiedEP 20Another fun episode, and as the previous episode had foreshadow, we get lots of battle in this episode. I really like seeing my favorite girl, Yura kick some butt too, such a treat seeing her shikigami! But I think the main dish was when the Nura clan had to face against Kidoumaru once more. We not only get to see Kidoumaru's ability, but Rikuo also learned more about his ability as well. The design of his new look when he that equip was really cool, props to the author. And that hook at the end really makes me curious about what's about to happen too!
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 19I think this might be my favorite episode so far, despite how little my girl Yura has a timescreen here. I really like how we get to see the action not only from the continued fight with Tsuchigumo, but we also get to see another one later down the episode. And the mystery that this episode served is great, with the sword and blood, and then the questions about Nue, I feel like this episode not only served action but also important questions, as we moved to the last five episodes.
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 18We get to see what we've all been waiting for after what happened with Tsuchigumo in prior epiosde. Beside the showdown, I feel the anime also highlight how Tsurara feels too. We get to see her break down a little bit, even borderline acting like a sacrifice at a point, that is how loyal Tsurara is to Rikuo. And this fight, I genuinely thought tha Rikuo would wipe the floor with Tsuchigumo, but this is better and more fun overall. Can't wait for the continuation of this fight!
dvinter★★★★☆VerifiedEP 17We get to see the aftermath of the fight from the last episode and also a focus on Rikuo. To be fair, what happened on Rikuo side is quite predictable, especially since you suddenly gained an unknown ally. But I really like the outcome of it, as we see at the end of the episode, as Rikuo once again developed. I like how Rikuo developed with time, as he trains, we see other characters as time pass. This makes his journey felt more believeable in a sesne. And again, the animator really did something cool with the ability design, I really like the thick, black outline that looks like a brush stroke, making Rikuo look menacing.
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 16As I said in the previous episode that we'll be diving into the battles this episode, and the anime did not disappoint. But as it is with older anime, the fight scene does include some flashback from the characters that are fighting, notably Aotabou and Kubinashi, which I really like. We see why Aotabou is protective over children and how Kubinashi joined the Nura clan. What interest me other than that is how we get a some sort of partnership between yokai and human in both side of the fight, as if telling us that it is possible for them to live side by side, as Nurarihyon once did. But the fight isn't over, which means I have to watch the next episode ASAP!
dvinter★★★★☆VerifiedEP 15We continued from the previous episode as we have now lots of POV, one with Rikuo, one with Hagoromo Gitsune, one with Kubinashi, one with Keikain clan, and last with the Nura clan. I have to say , I really like how the director weaved each scene into another, so there's little to no confusion in between. Even so, what I find fascinating is how when I thought we'll concentrate on one, they swerved and served us the other POV. But after this episode and how it ended, i think we knew what will happen in the next episode as we concentrate more on Kubinashi and Keikain clan. This is definitely a bridge episode, while we'll see the real fight in the next episode.
dvinter★★★★☆VerifiedEP 14As much as this episode is hard to watch, I think Rikuo and the others really needed what happened in this episode to happen, almost like a reality check of sort. I really like how the author gave it as is, with the stake high enough that Rikuo is panicked. But that surprise from Nurarihyon was something I didn't see coming. I really like seeing two generation clashes, as it usually feels like a passing of a baton of sort. Other than that, I was a bit suspicious after what Keikain clan had said this episode, especially during that tense scene. It was understandable, but highlight that at the end of the day, everyone has their own agenda, in a sense. I can't wait for more growth from Rikuo!
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 13This episode feels like it centered around Awashima, which I really like. We get to see her duality, as she is regarded a bit weaker because of being a female, which even Kurotabou implied. But this episode felt like an proof of that saying being wrong. We get to see that she is strong BECAUSE she's a woman, because of that she thought of such solution and able to finish her fight. I really enjoyed it. And once again after that, the reunion scene was good, but a bit redundant as once again we have to see character trading information that we've already known. But there's a hype hook right at the end, which made me wonder how Rikuo will handle this one.
dvinter★★★★☆EP 12I wanted to say that there's a lore dump, but I feel like the characters are pouring info we've already known, especially during the Keikain clan scene. As I said, it is a bit redundant, but I get why the anime did it, because it's for us to see the information had travelled from character to character, even though us the viewer already knows it. But as Shouei said, I'm quite afraid if this is how it goes from the start. And judging by the episode count, I have my doubts about the encounter after this.
dvinter★★★★☆VerifiedEP 11I know there will be some obstacle in between Rikuo and Kyoto, but seeing it like this, feels a bit iffy, as I thought there would be more build up to it, as we're still in episode 11, so there are some space for more development. I didn't dislike the battle itself, infact I liked it, especially with how the Itaku and Kubinashi one (Even though it was a bit anticlimatic). But something about the scene after that is a bit redundant in my opinion, feeling more like fluff, and not the fluff that was supposed to cut the tension. Maybe the author will have something in coming with them.
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 10We continued from the last episode, with the Keikain clan scene. As always, I personally like the fight scene, as I felt there's a lot of layers and not a simple people with the higher power would win, as people uses their strategy too. We learned a bit with Akifusa's backstory which is always appreciated, to see a side character story. And I really enjoy Hagun's twist a bit, which is nice, especially because we get to see a familiar face. And then that scene within the flying ship sent dreads into my head, as in, are we seriously doing this NOW? Then again, this is better than it happening later in a more serious scene.
dvinter★★★★☆VerifiedEP 9Another fun episode to watch, with a little less action than the epiosdes prior (There's a little bit of it at the end). Regardless, I think this episode set up where the characters are and which ones are going to Kyoto for this showdown. A fun way of showing it,especially the scene with Kana and the paranormal club. I do wonder why they're included and what the author has in mind for them, as I personally think the plot could go on without them, as it feels like they're there to start trouble than anything else. Either way, I do like this episode, and dare I say that I starting to like the Keikain family lol.
dvinter★★★★★VerifiedEP 8We finally see what Rikuo will be up against. It's not even Hagoromo Gitsune's full power just yet and I'm already bewildered. That scene alone, when she was against the onmyoji, was really great. It makes her feel intimidating, and with her acting like she's having fun makes it more eerie than anything else. And I like that Rikuo has finally lined up the dots about the reoccuring flashbacks he's been getting. Now I'm pumped for the next episode once more, I do wish we'll get to see the other characters soon enough too.
