And we're going straight to a training arc. Not a bad way to start the season as we're only in episode 6, and I think it is quite necessary, especially after seeing what happened at that scene with Rikuo and Nurarihyon. We also get to find out the battle system that we'll be using onward, even though it's hasn't been expanded upon just yet, I can see the potential of it. I really like the style of Rikuo's power, with the thick black brush stroke, watery like being swallowed, it's a really cool animation.

Certainly, this present narrative takes time in establishing the plot buildup. Focusing heavily on Rikuo's character growth before he can achieve his goal is the focal point of this episode. Aside from that, the subtle glimpse and introduction of the potential main villain creates a gripping momentum for the narrative's progression. And as usual, those extra funny visual animations are the perfect redeemer during the episode's slower duration.
