As I said in the previous episode that we'll be diving into the battles this episode, and the anime did not disappoint. But as it is with older anime, the fight scene does include some flashback from the characters that are fighting, notably Aotabou and Kubinashi, which I really like. We see why Aotabou is protective over children and how Kubinashi joined the Nura clan. What interest me other than that is how we get a some sort of partnership between yokai and human in both side of the fight, as if telling us that it is possible for them to live side by side, as Nurarihyon once did. But the fight isn't over, which means I have to watch the next episode ASAP!
Despite the slow progression of this narrative and the typical frequently subtle flashbacks, this episode completely redeems its pace through the seamless arrangement of its deliberately diverse shifting between back to back intensifying scenes. And this also essentially highlights the distinguished strength, development and overall reputation of every Nura clan character and villain featured in this episode.
