However, Gorou finds that the Major League players are much faster, stronger, and more driven than he is. Nonetheless, he is eager to catch up with them. In order to do so, Gorou must first conquer the ranks of the Minor League, where numerous skilled players compete in the grueling rise to the Majors. konami★★★☆☆AnimeThis season was not that exciting as the first three arcs. It focused on the character development, not only of Goro, but some other supporting characters. The pacing has definitely had some issues, specifically when it comes to the canon, filler-like, or intertwining plots, but I liked how the pacing in the match was not exaggerated. The animation quality in this season extremely dropped from the last season. The music was great, especially the first ED: "Goodbye, aishiteru..." All in all, a 3/5 rating for me in this S4.
uorseucs★★★★★AnimeSeason 4 is probably my favorite season in terms of overall character development. Not only do we get to see Goro struggle and succeed overseas, but we also get to see progress in his love life. To be honest, the feeling I got from watching this season surpassed that of the previous seasons. Not only are we getting closer to Goro's dream of becoming a Major Leaguer, but we also get to see many differences—and even some similarities—in how baseball is played in the USA and Japan. Craftsmanship-wise, to be fair, it didn't improve that much. While I love how clean the visuals look now, the overall animation hasn't changed significantly. Season 3 already delivered a similar level of quality. That said, I still prefer this season's visuals over those of the previous seasons simply because everything looks much cleaner. Overall, I'd rate this season a 9/10.
