Synopsis

The magic system here still feels distinct: less wand-waving, more military-grade technology fused with sorcery, and 8bit's animation handles the battle sequences with real precision. Taku Iwasaki's soundtrack keeps the atmosphere tense when it needs to be. If you liked the strategic power dynamics in A Certain Magical Index or the magic-meets-military vibe of The Asterisk War, this scratches a similar itch.
