In Season 3 episode 1, it feels refreshing to see both Tatsuya Shiba and Miyuki Shiba return to school. The art and visual used in this episode is great and I enjoyed the misunderstanding scene between Tatsuya and the three Saegusa siblings. Mayumi's reaction is so adorable!

Season 3 started off on a high note. It's exciting to see Tatsuya and Miyuki return as sophomores. The new character animation is great and the double seven arc promises intense political and magical action. A solid opening.

This season marks the start of a new school year, and I love that they’ve kept the bright, soft color palette. The plot is still focused on the fallout from the previous season's finale. On another note, poor Tatsuya! It looks like he isn't exactly everyone's favorite person this

Episode Context

As the season premiere and the first half of the 'Double Seven' arc, this episode builds directly off the 'Reminiscence' special that explored Tatsuya and Miyuki's backstory, now pivoting to the present with a new school year full of fresh stakes. It introduces the key players and rivalries that will fuel the early stretch of this 13-episode season. The groundwork laid here, new characters, shifting social hierarchies, and Tatsuya's evolving academic position, feeds directly into 'Double Seven Part II' and the broader conflicts ahead.
