Fruits Basket 1st Season
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Tooru Honda, reeling from the loss of her mother, ends up living in a tent because she has nowhere else to go. Turns out the tent is on land owned by the Souma family, which includes Yuki, the most popular boy at her school, and his older cousin Shigure. They take her in, and things seem like a fairly standard living-together setup until she accidentally hugs one of them and he turns into a rat. Certain members of the Souma family are cursed to transform into animals of the Chinese zodiac when embraced by the opposite sex, and each one carries emotional baggage tied to that curse. The 25-episode first season is really about Tooru slowly earning the trust of these deeply guarded people, and the show handles it with a patience that actually pays off. TMS Entertainment gave this 2019 adaptation gorgeous animation that makes every emotional beat land harder, the character expressions alone carry entire scenes. It blends genuine warmth with humor that never undercuts the heavier moments, and the soundtrack knows exactly when to pull back and when to hit you. If you liked the found-family heart of Clannad or the charm of Ouran High School Host Club, this sits comfortably in that space while being its own thing. Fans of Kamisama Kiss will find a similar supernatural-romance warmth here too. Don't expect nonstop drama, this one builds slowly, and that's exactly what makes it worth it.

Bro, "My mother just got kidnapped" by Tooru had me dead. Also really not a fan of Hiro, bro is extremely annoying. Kisa is such an angel, hoping for a character development arc for him.
just a bunch of exposition
As vanilla romance as vanilla could be they said. Jokes aside, merging standard romance with the zodiac aspect is really creative
i love the idea of using the zodiac as real people and the storyline fits really well and how each zodiac respond to others based on their animal/nature, fit to the tea
I watched the original series in High School, and this clicks on that same level, though the bits that hit harder are in later seasons.
They say it's good----the peakest of peak romcoms or romances...so..maybe it's worth a shot, and may be promising for me to say the least-
It's a bit too long but it has some really sad moments that I like.
Also here slow start but it gets better and better by season best is also here season 3 / final season! Good Shoujo!
anime
It's a fun story.
I absolutely love the tone of this anime. The healer and the other characters provide a rather heavy emotional narrative, but this is handled very well. The psychological elements and romance are incredibly complex. The comedy is perfectly timed and really keeps me hooked.
Another rom-com anime that was in the top 5 of my list! The kind Tohru and the cute Kyo was one of my favorite couple ever!
it's wholesome and peaceful
every moment
This episode is very lively. I was amazed with how the narrative tones it up to the audience. The delivery of the character's engagement is catchy. The animation is cute and it gives butterfly to my stomach as it leads its pace.
The main character's situation gets you right away and you feel for her immediately., but as the episode goes on you can kind of tell where the story is heading. Still, it's cozy and easy to watch, good comfort anime if you know what you're signing up for.
Immediately made me love Tohru. Honestly, at first I was a bit shocked to find out she was living in a tent, but it was funny that she was still so relaxed. Then when the Sohma family's secret was revealed and they turned into animals, it was also funny.
The moment Kyo's bracelet came off, the vibe was immediately terrifying. I felt a bit sad when I saw Kyo transform into a monster and felt disgusting. But that's where Tohru's coolness lies. She didn't run away, wasn't disgusted, but instead hugged Kyo
Honestly, very nicely done, 10/10 ending, no unnecessary romance, and it did bring a tear to my eye. Kyo and his teacher communicating was super satisfying to see, and Kyo boasting about his teacher to Tooru was just adorable.
I love the way Kyo interacts with his teacher when no one is around. He really does love him like a father he's never had. Emotions have really peaked with this episode, and things are getting extremely tense.
