EPISODE CONTEXT
Following Episode 1's bombshell revelation of the zodiac curse, this episode expands the world-building and deepens Tohru's relationship with her three Sohma housemates — essential groundwork for everything that follows across 25 episodes. It solidifies the show's core dynamic of humor masking pain before the series shifts toward school life and introduces new characters in Episode 3. Still very much in the foundation-laying phase, but the emotional threads planted here pay off significantly later in the season.
