This episode is very lively. I was amazed with how the narrative tones it up to the audience. The delivery of the character's engagement is catchy. The animation is cute and it gives butterfly to my stomach as it leads its pace.

Kagura is such a ball of energetic energy, and her spirit animal seems so in line with her personality. Def a must-watch to get more perspective on Kyo and Kagura.

A strange girl, Kagura Soma, is introduced. Her antics and indomitable expression of love for Kyo serve as comic relief in this episode. Likewise, Tohru finds a way to bond with her. And together, all of them share a heartwarming interaction. But a sad hint was given at the end.

I thought there would be a punchline for that new girl character introduced. But that was a literal punch for Kyo! Loved that introduction hahahah! Started as cute, ended with a punch. What a good way to start an episode. Overall it was 9/10 for me!

In this episode, a new character appears. Shocked by Kagura’s sudden personality change 😭 It explains her brutal traits—her animal form! Honda’s dialogue always impacts others, making scenes lively and fun. So far, Yuki, Kyo, and Kagura show clear character development.

Kagura brings chaotic energy that’s both funny and overwhelming. Her obsession with Kyo feels intense, but Tohru’s calm response keeps things grounded. It shows again how Tohru approaches people without judgment.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 4 arrives after Tohru has settled into the Sohma household and learned the family's zodiac secret, making this the first episode to expand the curse's scope beyond Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure by introducing Kagura. It adds a new layer to Kyo's characterization and signals the show's broader ambition to systematically introduce the full zodiac roster. This sets the template for the coming episodes, which will continue weaving new Sohma members into Tohru's orbit while deepening the emotional stakes of the family's hidden burden.
