Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun
Oshimeter
Synopsis
At just 14 years old, Iruma Suzuki's deadbeat parents literally sell him to a demon. That's his life. The twist is that the demon, Sullivan, doesn't want to eat him, but he just really, really wants a grandchild. So now Iruma is enrolled at Babyls, a prestigious school for demons, trying not to get devoured while Sullivan spoils him rotten as the school's headmaster. The whole joke is that Iruma just wants to keep his head down and survive, but the universe keeps throwing him into the spotlight. He accidentally casts a forbidden spell during a ceremony, befriends the most intense honor student in school (Alice Asmodeus), and gets adopted by Clara Valac, who has the energy of a golden retriever on espresso. It's a 23-episode TV series from Bandai Namco Pictures, adapted from a shounen manga, and the comedic timing is genuinely solid. The animation has this bright, expressive style that leans into the absurdity rather than fighting it, and the demon world's power system with magical abilities and artifacts gives it more depth than you'd expect from the premise. The vibe is warm and youthful; stakes exist but nothing crushes your soul. If you liked the fish-out-of-water comedy in The Devil Is a Part-Timer or the monster-school setup of Rosario + Vampire but wanted something with a bit more heart, this lands in that sweet spot. It's the kind of show that's easy to start and hard to stop watching.
