A lovely and sweet introduction to a character I least expected to be an akudol! I personally love Nao Toyama so I'm really glad to see a character she voices being cute and driven as usual. I feel like there's a lot that I like in this episode despite it not seemingly contributing much to the plot - except for additional interactions between her and Iruma in the future.

It really hit the spot for me. As someone who’s a big fan of the musical idol genre, this was really entertaining. It was also a great idea to include this narrative to introduce who Kerori truly is and to show a different side of her personality. It's a very fascinating plot.

This episode reveals one of the best hidden identities in the series AND drops major lore about how demon society works. If you skip this, you'll miss the whole setup for the next two episodes AND one of the most satisfying "background character gets spotlight" moments in anime.

This episode introduces Kuromu, a demon idol with an unexpected twist to her character. It’s a genuinely funny episode, with the highlight being her interactions with Iruma, especially as she tries to hide her frustration toward him for stealing her spotlight in the newspaper. Overall, it’s a refreshing and entertaining episode that’s definitely worth watching

In this episode we get introduced to Kuromu whose an idol, I love how pretty her design is and how her hair is colored. I'm also glad that through this episode, we were able to get Keroli's backstory before the other Misfit classmates.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the momentum of Iruma's rising reputation and the attention earned in the preceding episodes, episode 21 shifts gears to explore a new facet of demon society while deepening character dynamics with only two episodes remaining. It serves as a meaningful setup for 'Sparkling Shock,' continuing the season's broader exploration of personal identity and how characters navigate societal expectations in the Netherworld. This late-season pivot keeps the world-building fresh while positioning key character revelations ahead of the finale.
