Synopsis
In a hidden ritual repeated across centuries, seven mages each summon a legendary hero from history to fight on their behalf in a secret war waged over a wish-granting Holy Grail. Sounds straightforward, except the guy we're following, Kiritsugu Emiya, is a cold-blooded mercenary nicknamed the 'Magus Killer,' and he's married into a prestigious mage family specifically to win this war for them. He wants to save the world, but his methods involve bullets, bombs, and betrayal rather than any noble sorcery. Meanwhile, a conflicted priest named Kirei Kotomine is on the opposing side, slowly realizing he might enjoy violence more than scripture. The tension between these two drives the whole series. What makes this TV series hit different is the tone, it treats its premise with dead seriousness. Every Master has a coherent reason for fighting, every Servant carries the weight of their historical legacy, and the consequences feel real. Ufotable's animation still holds up from 2011, with fight choreography that's genuinely stunning, and Yuki Kajiura's soundtrack gives everything this heavy, orchestral atmosphere. If you liked the moral weight of Psycho-Pass or the way Attack on Titan makes you question who's actually right, this sits in that same space. It's dark, it's strategic, and nobody gets plot armor. Thirteen episodes for this first season, and it earns every single one.

Isakanda is the goat
best episode by far. Loved listening to them debate about their ideals and what it means to be king. Rider is the King!

Animation is so good and I feel so bad for saver with that freak after her lol
absolutely stunning animation. Saber and Lancer was a fun taste of what the battles will be like. Loving the strategy aspect of the battles also.
Un episodio que fortalece el vínculo entre Rider y Waver. Aquí Iskandar traspasaría su filosofía a ese muchacho. Luego veríamos en el anime Lord el Melloi II las consecuencias que tuvo, así como su importancia en Waver.
Un episodio que desarrolla la relación entre Kirei y Gilgamesh. Kirei a pesar de que por momentos daba asco, era un buen antagonista. Sus diálogos y discusiones con el rey de reyes eran de lo mejor.
Uno de los mejores episodios de esta serie y el más memorable de la primera temporada de Fate/Zero. El aura que tenía Iskandar era inmensa.
Nos muestran a Rin y cómo desarrolló su personalidad, lo que entenderíamos mejor en Fate Stay.
Un episodio que muestra las consecuencias que pueden tener los combates, sobre todo en Keyneth. Es lo bueno que tiene este anime, que como solo puede haber un vencedor, sabemos las consecuencias que pueden tener los perdedores, pero todos tienen sus puntos que los hacen personajes buenos o al menos aceptables.
Episodio de mucha acción y estrategia con la animación en su peak. Acá veríamos el contraste de Saber y Kiritsugu, con quien siempre tuve mis más y mis menos tanto en Fate/Zero como después en Fate/Stay.
Despliegue de estrategia y acción. Aquí empezaría a odiar a Caster y querría que muriera en ese mismo episodio, aunque le dio un toque oscuro necesario al anime. Como villano asquerosamente perturbador era aceptable.
Enfrentamiento y aparición de Caster, donde ahí empezaría el reconocimiento de Artoria como Juana de Arco.
Un gran episodio que nos muestra a varios Servant en la misma ubicación donde el que más destaca es Rider por su carisma (qué buen personaje que era Rider).
Gran combate entre Saber y Lancer con una excelente animación, mostrándonos sus habilidades.
Muestra quien es realmente Archer y desarrolla enfrenamientos y estrategias de los distintos bandos. Se prepara enfrenamiento entre Saber y Lancer.
Un episodio que profundiza en los vínculos entre Servant y Master, además de explicarnos en lo que consiste la Guerra del santo grial y en mostrar a todos los héroes.
Un episodio largo de explicación del lore, introducción de los personajes, con una dirección y una animación de Ufotable increíble (a lo que nos tiene acostumbrados). Aunque quizás el episodio pueda parecerles lento a muchos.
