This episode is more like the extension of the first, we finally get to see the Servants summoned by the Masters from the last ep. Pacing is kinda steady since it takes its time establishing the character dynamics, but it does end with a big bang at the end. Kneel to the King!

This episode portrays the chaos of the Grail War. The remaining ones are monsters, while all of the heroes and masters are visible. From the hilarious yet epic bond between Waver and Rider to the terrible Caster and Ryuunosuke. The conflict has officially started.

This serves more as an extension/expansion of the first episode as it follows the masters and servants all gather to fuyuki for war

Since we’re basically still meeting everyone and POVs keep switching around, it's understandable that the pacing feels slower than it probably is. That last action scene though is easily the best part, ending the episode with a bang.

As someone new to the series, I think the whole “past heroes being summoned” feels like a gacha game that either could go terribly wrong or insanely good. So far, Fate/Zero is doing a solid job. And of course, Ufotable never misses with the animation and art style.

I like how they’re slowly showing each hero’s personality. It makes them feel more than just overly-designed characters. The pool of competitors, upon finally revealing everyone, has stark differences from others. The dark visuals and background sounds really carried that scene.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following the premiere's ambitious world-building and Servant summoning sequences, this episode completes the roster and shifts focus to the psychological chess match between Masters and their legendary heroes. It serves as the final piece of Fate/Zero's extended setup before the Holy Grail War's opening moves, ensuring every player's motivations are clearly drawn. The character groundwork laid here directly fuels the tensions and betrayals that will define the season's escalating conflicts.
