This anime is amazing across storyline, animation, characterization, and music. However, I would give the pacing a lower score since they're trying to push notable events in the game, and everything feels like it's on x2. If you want to enjoy a slower but well-fleshed-out story, watch the series version of UBW. But if you want the rushed version, watch this.

Synopsis
In Fuyuki City, the Fifth Holy Grail War is about to commence a lengthy battle of blood, death, and misery. High school student Rin Toosaka has trained her entire life for this moment—to become a magus capable of being a Master in the war. Summoning her Servant known as Archer, Rin finally sets foot into the battle. Discovering that one of her acquaintances, Shirou Emiya, is drawn into the war as well, Rin offers to form an alliance for the time being. And as the two of them grow closer, Rin begins to learn more about Shirou's fate and ideals. Nevertheless, her goal remains the same: to win the all-powerful relic that can fulfill the wishes of those who are victorious after the war—the Holy Grail. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Quick Takes
View all 4 takesThe movie tries to squeeze in many routes from the visual novel into one single entry, making for a really fast paced experience that can be a total hit or miss. It can feel brutal for newcomers and just feel like an info dump. But between the energetic battles, moody soundtrack, and sharp chemistry between characters, it still makes for a fun watch for both newcomers and existing fans.
Ufotable's animation is so brutal. The endless clash of idealism between Shirou and Archer brought deep emotions to every fight. Unlimited blade works is a masterpiece of action, philosophy, and visual perfection.
