Synopsis
Rifle-shooting sports are competitive activities testing accuracy and precision using a rifle. In Japan, carrying firearms is prohibited, so most of the participants are members of the defense force. When the use of rifles using a light beam instead of real bullets as ammunition became common, rifle-shooting competitions became accessible to the younger population, giving way to school contests. First-year high school student and marksmanship enthusiast Hikari Kokura has just transferred to Chidori High School. She tries to join the club of her choice, but finds out that the club no longer exists due to the low popularity of the sport. Distraught, she tries to restore the club and somehow manages to recruit three other members: her childhood friend Izumi Shibusawa, the half-Russian Erika Meinohama, and the stoic Yukio Igarashi. This marks the beginning of the Chidori Rifle-Shooting Club, who have only one goal—to compete on the national stage!

Is this worth it to watch? Here are my points to consider: You want to see cute girls doing cute stuff? then this anime will interest you While this is technically a sports anime, its overall atmosphere is much more relaxed compared to a typical entry in the genre. Are you here to learn about guns and rifles? Turn back cause this is about the target shooting sport If you're looking for in-depth information about the target shooting sport, this anime only covers the basics. It introduces some aspects of the sport, but most of the explanations remain at a surface level There isn't much of a flashy animation in this anime (what do you expect? it's just a bunch of people standing and shooting at a stationary target), although the CGI of the rifle along with the hand holding it looked odd This anime is adapted from a 4-koma manga, so the pacing can feel a bit fast at times. The studio did an excellent job selecting the VA for each character, and their performances are fantastic.
A really fitting finale that stays true to the series from beginning to end. Instead of trying to become a completely different anime at the last minute, it focuses on what made the journey enjoyable in the first place. Wholesome, satisfying, and it honestly left me wanting another season.
Probably one of the strongest episodes because it captures everything the show does well. The friendships, the competitive spirit, and the genuine love for the sport all come together naturally. It never feels overly dramatic, but it still leaves a surprisingly warm impression.
This episode balances comedy and competition really well. There are plenty of fun character moments, but you can also feel everyone's nerves starting to show in different ways. It's a nice reminder that even the most confident characters have their own struggles.
The tournament atmosphere is honestly one of my favorite parts of the series. Meeting more competitors makes the event feel much more alive, and I like that the anime gives other schools enough personality to make every matchup feel interesting instead of just background noise.
This episode has that classic "big event is almost here" feeling that always gets me hyped. I enjoyed all the interactions outside the competition because they made everyone feel a little more human. The atmosphere is calm, but you can definitely feel the excitement building underneath.
Peak slice of life energy. I love how the show isn't afraid to slow down after bigger moments and just let these dorks be high school students again. Their friendship honestly feels more believable because of episodes like this, and the comedy continues to be surprisingly consistent.
This is where the sports aspect really starts clicking for me. The tension is more noticeable, but the series still finds plenty of room for wholesome interactions and goofy moments. It strikes a nice balance that keeps things exciting without losing the charm that made me stick around.
The stakes finally start creeping in, but the anime never abandons its cozy identity. I liked seeing everyone's different personalities come through once the pressure started building. It feels less about winning and more about watching this club gradually grow into something special.
Hikari and her team have successfully entered the competition many times, with a bittersweet finale of triumph for the team, making a bond that established calm optimism and a fresh determination, making viewers happy of this story
Before the Final Episode, the Chidori team set the Preparation with the final relay and a very unique emotional peak slice-of-life with stunning sports tension, thanks to the animation and sound effects making a smooth transition perfectly with special effects
I like the character Dynamics between Erina and Akira, both characters has lot of emotional warmth with a psychological battle under pressure making tense up without resorting to melodrama
This is better than last episode has Magnicficent Setting place such as National stadium with tense with Crowded loud with High Psychological effect, i like Yuko cause she has perfect accuracy by her instinct making rival team jealous
I like this story because it has a good theme with a relaxing mood heartwarming chemistry, and an emotionally resonant palate cleanser. shows The Chidiori team needs some preparation for the next tournament, with perfectly ambient for a team with teenage friendship
i really loved it because it has a cozy slice of life with a balance of comedy, but with high-stakes, tense characters between Erika and Izumi, they have true friends with hilarious with memorable punchlines
If you think that the competition is over at this point then you are wrong, there's actually an individual competition afterwards where as the name suggests, everyone competes on their own. The outcome of the event was definitely unexpected and the air rifle competition where it was mentioned back in the qualifiers episode that Erika was supposed to participate in is largely skipped over. To be honest, this episode doesn’t feel like a proper finale. I’m at a bit of a loss when it comes to describing the ending since it feels more like the story simply returns to the characters’ usual routines after the nationals.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit excited about this episode. The story does a good job of raising the stakes, especially now that the character from the opposing side I’ve been waiting to see compete has finally stepped up to the plate. Once again, the soundtrack carries the episode well, preventing it from feeling dull and helping maintain the tension. There’s even a small bit of fan service after the competition which adds a lighter touch at the end. Overall, I found this episode quite entertaining. P.S. Hozumi really has quite an eccentric people in their line up in this competition, I guess Erika said before was true that eccentric individuals often seem to be the ones with strong target shooting skills.
This episode is a bit dramatic and once again the soundtrack plays a big role in shaping that atmosphere. Similar to the previous episode, the focus is placed more on the competitors rather than Erika herself. That said, the anime does a good job of breaking up the heavy tension during Hikari’s turn, offering a brief moment of relief. However, the stakes are clearly rising and the next episode is likely to be much more tense especially since her performance could ultimately decide whether the team wins or loses the competition.
The nationals begin in this episode but interestingly, the atmosphere feels very similar to the qualifiers, if anything it seems even more relaxed. Just like in the qualifier episode, Yukio doesn’t get much of a spotlight or any real showdown during her turn, which feels a bit disappointing. During the competition, more attention is given to standout shooters from other prefectures which is somewhat understandable. However, same as with the qualifiers episode, the soundtrack does a great job of carrying the overall mood preventing the episode from feeling monotonous. The well-timed comedic scenes also help balance out the tension and keep things engaging.
This episode is paced much better than the previous one. I'm glad it didn't immediately skip to the competition after they arrived in Hiroshima as it took the time to build up and introduce the powerhouse school to beat in the nationals, helping set the stage for the national tournament. There was also a brief glimpse of air rifles, although the anime didn't go into much detail about them. That's kinda disappointing, as I was curious to learn more about that aspect as well.
