The stakes finally start creeping in, but the anime never abandons its cozy identity. I liked seeing everyone's different personalities come through once the pressure started building. It feels less about winning and more about watching this club gradually grow into something special.
This episode marks the start of the prefectural qualifiers. It opens with a fairly clichéd scene of the club members preparing for the big day. The other schools that were mentioned in the previous episode are finally introduced, along with their participants, and they all have distinct and rather eccentric personalities that make the tournament more entertaining. The soundtrack really carried this episode, enhancing the tension and suspense during the competition. If the first round was already exciting, the way this episode builds up the second round left me eager to see what happens next.
