Synopsis
After spending her whole life as a shut-in, Renako Amaori is done with it. New school, new look, new personality. she's going to fake being an extrovert until it sticks. Things actually go well at first. She befriends Mai Ouzuka, the school's most popular girl and a working model, which is basically the social jackpot for someone trying to reinvent themselves. Problem is, keeping up a whole fake persona is exhausting, and cracks start showing fast. Then Mai confesses she has feelings for Renako, and suddenly this isn't just about surviving high school anymore, but it's about figuring out who she actually is while someone's falling for a version of her she's not sure is real. That tension between friendship and something more is where the show lives, and it handles it with a mix of genuine comedy and quieter emotional moments that land harder than you'd expect from the premise. The socially anxious protagonist angle gives the yuri genre something it doesn't always have: a lead who's actively struggling with identity beyond just romance. The finale focused more on emotions. I like the short and clean reaction of Mai at the very end.
The hot spring town offers gives the episode a warm seasonal vibe. The fireworks, evening scenery and the festival looked gorgeous, even a apple candy get its close up. This episode captured that nostalgic summer anime feeling perfectly.
The relationship between Renako and Ajisai gets a lot more closer. The comedy is on spot and the fans service is just tooooo much.
Ajisai as main character in this episode = 10/10. A hot spring trip changes the scenery completely. The background art during the travel scenes looked beautiful. It was a refreshing change of pace.
The pacing stayed energetic, and the reactions were funny. The characters in the FPS game is weird looking and i doesnt like it, but the background of the game looks great.
The triangle relationship is so tense. I want more scenes of Ajisai!! She is so pity in this episode
The soundtrack is soft quietly supported the mood . This episode gave the friendships of Satsuki and Renako a lot more depth.
The dialogue was packed with quick jokes. It was messy but entertaining.
