The Thousand Noble Musketeers

Overall, this is fine for school-age kids who are watching anime for the first time. If you want to introduce them to gun action without graphic violence and intense dialogues, this fits well. I wouldn’t say the show is badly produced. It's more like it was made for mild viewers. For those who are fond of firearms, this will surely be something they’ll appreciate.

I had funny thoughts about this. Truly, they’re musketeers, "One for All, All for One," and I’m not sure who the underdog is here anymore. I think this would’ve been less complicated if they hadn’t associated the characters with historical figures. The historical weapons alone could’ve been enough. My point is, there are anime that feature historical figures, like the Shinsengumi in Samurai X and Gintama. Yet those shows managed to leave a lasting impact despite their different genres. Here, I think it’s because the excessive introduction of characters led to a convoluted plot.

Surprisingly, this epsiode went full action. I’d say they were a bit shy in showcasing the stunts. They only showed them once or twice, where it caught my attention for a moment. I just wished they had shown more.

With the introduction of additional characters, it becomes complicated again. They showed more abilities, but the mission itself feels boring because it only focuses on their side. It’s just a mission where they have to accomplish something without any realistic obstacles. There’s no intellectual engagement from the enemy, so the story feels one-sided for a war. I can't fully grasp their concept of a genius because weapons are objects. Were they trying to say that long ago there was this genius who held a specific firearm which is what they are portraying in this episode? Their theme wasn't strongly established so it's kind of confusing. But at least, this part here has interesting scenes.

It seems like they are improving some lapses from their earlier episodes. This time, I think they did a good job characterizing the twin pistols. To be fair, this is a good one.

It has always been an exciting plot involving spying and disguises, so this episode turns out an okay for me to pass the time.

This is another stand-alone story, which may have given a good feeling IF it belonged to another anime. But knowing what anime this actually is, it feels like a mismatch. I can’t connect Geweer as a weapon to the story being presented, and I don’t think other viewers would even bother researching the history of the weapon itself.

This episode is more self-contained compared to the earlier ones. This one introduces Cutlery, where it presents how its/his abilities can be used in a certain situation. I feel that this should’ve been the right execution of their theme, not just making it all about shooting, glowing, and unlocking skills without proper grounding to support how they came to be.

I kind of like the change in direction here. It feels like a different but good story, if you watch the episodes one at a time. . . definitely not if you binge watch.
