Surprisingly, this epsiode went full action. I’d say they were a bit shy in showcasing the stunts. They only showed them once or twice, where it caught my attention for a moment. I just wished they had shown more.
The Empire Stormtroopers suddenly becoming CGI somehow completely caught me off guard. The anime's action sequences where put in the spotlight and it weaknesses showed. The episode honestly fell short. It's not the worst episode, but considering what is happening, it didn't bring much tension.
It is somehow a redeemable episode, the tactical aspect made it passable as a war anime. But it is wasted by the poor direction of the animation, still using repetitive actions with a different backdrop. But this is still a huge step for this anime.
