Honestly, I didn't think much of this anime going into it, but honestly the story is pretty interesting. Even the setting is pretty realistic to our current world. It's almost a glimpse to an alternate future, almost. The whole premise of muskets coming to life or gaining souls and becoming people? Very interesting. An interesting start to what I hope will be an interesting anime.
How should i put this?. This is somewhat interesting, a new concept story for me. But as i watch this first episode, i got mixed feelings about this. Part or me is saying this could be great, and the other is saying "where is this going? ". Plus the character introduction is so overwhelming. I can't still grasp the idea of what they are fighting for. The animation is so 90's, character design are like rom-com anime. Let's se how the other episodes pans out.
For me, watching the first episode had its ups and downs. The concept itself is interesting: the characters represent weapons and historical figures connected to war history. The weapon-based characters are fine, but the portrayal of the historical figures is horrible. For example, Napoleon. Look at his actual portraits, the animated version feels like a complete impostor. I’d say that too much of contradictions could have been better presented as a parody. Next, the background animation quality is great. It perfectly fits the war setting, giving that worn-out battlefield atmosphere. However, the character animations feel like they were taken from a romance genre. They look too colorful, clean, fresh, dashing, sparkling, and modern, which contradicts 100/10 of the world setting. Then, there’s the overwhelming introduction of characters. I lost count of how many names flashed on the screen. On top of that, not everyone is familiar with firearms, especially vintage ones. I honestly don't know where the story is headed. It's not clear if they are reenacting history with a twist, or they are still headed to world building. I just hope they make it up to the succeeding episodes.
