I kept waiting for someone to pull Chiyome out of that duel and nobody did and that was the right call. Letting her finish it herself is the only thing that could have made his spirit thanking her land that hard

Chiyome fighting Sasuke never felt like a fight. It felt like a goodbye the whole time and the pendant at the end broke me a little

charos showing up to yell at parrulmo while the city burns and parrulmo basically saying it was all part of the plan made me more interested in the villains than the heroes. two church guys scheming on each other is a better hook than the monster at the end

the undead brother trope is old but chiyome saying goodbye after using his own lesson to beat him earned it. small pendant left behind was a nice touch

you know the rooftop dagger fight was the best animated part of the season so far. sparks flying every time the blades met and no wasted motion

okay that last monster with the mouths and eyes everywhere devouring people in the street was genuinely nasty. arc jumping in front of a kid with no backup while everyone else is across town sets up the finale well

still not over the season 1 princess plot getting tossed in the drawer. the church stuff is fine but where did that whole storyline go

parrulmo proudly announcing his full name to the people trying to kill him was very funny for a guy who is supposed to be a sage

pro vs hacker is exactly right. thanatos just ignores the rules the ninjas spent years mastering and wins anyway. cheap if he turns out to be a player too

that flashback of sasuke in the snow teaching chiyome to strike where the opponent least expects and then she uses that exact lesson to beat him. cruel little bit of writing right there

watched chiyome carry this whole episode while arc stood around being shiny. this is the show I want. more of the ninja stuff

I did not need to cry over a skeleton tonight but here we are. Sasuke telling her he was proud that she was the one to free him wrecked me

Chiyome calling him Rou and that one second of pause just gutted me. You could feel her hoping and then boom he cuts her down anyway. That cross-slash came out of nowhere. She's going to have to put him down and that's brutal.

The acupuncture gag between Chiyome and Ariane deserved more screen time honestly. Watching Ariane panic at the suggestion of needles was comedy gold. Sometimes the little slice of life moments between the serious battles are this show's best parts

I get why people are frustrated that Rou didn't just snap out of it but honestly the conditioning has to mean something. The empire knew what they were doing turning a top ninja into a puppet. Chiyome accepting that she may have to kill him was the real gut punch

This season has been dragging with filler but episode 10 finally hit the main plot. The baby Jamianto baiting reveal was dark even for this show. Someone legit slaughtered an infant monster just to herd the parents into villages. Palrum is pure evil

I was honestly hoping the mind control would break when Chiyome used his real name. Rou standing there with those dead red eyes while she poured her heart out was rough. The flashback of him training her as a kid made the whole thing hurt worse

Chiyome calling him Rou with tears in her eyes and he just slashes her across the chest. That cut deep. I knew mind control this strong wouldn't break from a name drop but it still hurt watching her hit the ground
