Skeleton Knight in Another World II

Ariane refusing Arc's healing magic on her hip then Tsubaki immediately putting Arc in a bone lock that made him scream across the plains was the best comedy beat this season. The tonal whiplash between that and the Sasuke reveal is wild though. This show really swings both ways.

Chief Eyn thinking they stole the Driftops then turning into a grateful bowing mess after Arc healed his people was funny character work. The clan politics between beastfolk tribes is genuinely interesting and Arc keeps acting as the bridge between everyone. Nice world building without slowing the pace.

Someone murdered a baby golem to send its parents into a rage and I'm supposed to just move on from that? The severed head in the burlap sack was genuinely grim for this show. The undead assassin orchestrated that whole village massacre just to draw them out. Cold stuff.

I keep going back and forth on whether Arc can fix Sasuke with his holy magic. The purification stuff worked on elf undead before but this feels way more personal. Chiyome seeing her brother's face under that mask was brutal. She waited so long just to find this.

Ariane's backside being a national treasure is a take I can get behind. The massage scene was wholesome and spicy at the same time and honestly the ride backache bit had me laughing hard. Also poor girl got destroyed by a walk basically.

Sasuke being revealed as an undead puppet hits different when you remember Chiyome spent the whole season searching for him. That freeze frame on her face said everything without a single line. Arc better find a way to purify him.

Arc yelling 'show me your moves' during a serious battle with rock golems is the reason I keep watching this show. Perfectly overpowered and still a total geek about it. The Captain Falcon reference landed so hard. Also he flipped a damn triceratops with his bare hands.

The animation for the Driftops wrestling scene was actually clean. Aura Studio was shaky early in the season but this episode's action had weight. The golem vaporization beam looked gorgeous too. Glad they stepped it up for the stuff that actually matters.

That ring falling out of Bishop Charles's robes while he shovels meat into his greasy face is the nastiest detail this show has done. Church is feeding beastfolk to monsters or worse. This series really made its villains hateable and I'm all in for watching them burn.

Kraken Kiosk is the funniest thing this season has done. Arc setting up a whole food business out of a monster attack while Ariane just watches with that exhausted face. The fans who said this was filler are wrong. The cozy stuff is the whole point of this show

That moment Sasuke embraced Chiyome in the snow and told her not to make him suffer losing family again broke me. Tsubone's fanfiction version was hilarious but the real story hit way harder. And the way Arc just used the kraken to cheer her up after? He's got his own way of caring and I respect it

I'm with the critics on this one. Spending half the episode on squid skewers and comedy when Sasuke is clearly in danger felt frustrating. The Kraken fight was cool and the final reveal was ominous but the tone juggling got sloppy. Give me the urgent plot or give me the jokes. Pick one

I actually teared up at young Chiyome vowing to get strong after losing everyone. Then Tsubone's ridiculous narration hit and I was laughing. This show keeps yanking me between feelings and I can't even be mad. Sasuke saving her in the snow was the real gut punch though

Tsubone turning Chiyome's whole tragic childhood into a sparkly soap opera had me dying. The kick line bit was so absurd I had to pause. Then the reveal at the end with Sasuke's red eyes just flipped everything dark. Wild tonal whiplash in one episode

The Arc Ark Arc finally delivers and honestly the pun was worth the wait. Arc selling kraken skewers to cheer up Chiyome is peak gamerbrain behavior. Man just slashed a sea monster and immediately thought about crafting materials

The flashback with Sasuke telling young Chiyome he can't bear losing family again hit me harder than any isekai has any right to. Wish they'd held that tone longer instead of undercutting it with the theater bit. The ending with his glowing red eyes and that blood-stained bag though... what is he carrying

Ariane wrapping her leg around Arc while completely wasted is officially my favorite scene of the entire season. The animation team knew exactly what they were doing with her this episode and I respect it

Drunk Ariane was absolute gold this week. Her clinging to Arc and accidentally breathing fire into her own cup had me dying. I love how this show manages to mix completely goofy slice of life with political setup so easily.

how does arc struggle in a tug of war match when he can literally level mountains with his magic. i know he was holding back but making him sweat over a rope felt so forced just for the gag

Loved seeing the ninja village finally! Arc picking up on all the original Hanzo hints was super neat and Tsubone is already a great character. The fireworks scene at the end with everyone together was shockingly sweet
