Episode Context

Following Episode 1's broader confrontation with human trafficking, this episode pulls the focus inward to a more intimate and self-contained threat tied to interspecies tension. It functions as a quieter but pointed showcase of the prejudice Arc and Ariane regularly brush up against, adding texture to the season's recurring social themes. Episode 3 moves on to a separate kidnapping-ring situation, making this a transitional episode that deepens character dynamics before the season widens its scope again.
