Episode Context

After Episode 2's escalating tension around an assassination threat targeting an elvish bride, Episode 3 deliberately pulls back to a more intimate, localized case with lower but no less personal stakes. It functions as a tonal breather before the season moves into the cursed-sanctuary storyline introduced in Episode 4. Sitting at the quarter-mark of a 12-episode run, it uses this breathing room to reinforce the core duo's dynamic rather than advance the overarching plot.
