The kids draining all their spirit energy and knocking themselves out was the funniest payoff gag I have seen this season. But the real meat was the Nagi backstory. Centuries of duty and Dara forgot her own human name but still protects the bloodline. That is some heavy lore

The tonal whiplash on this show is unreal. One minute Santa Dara in a tight red suit and the next she is impaling a soul-stealing yokai through the throat with a katana. That hospital flashback scene hit so hard and completely explains why she puts up with the kids antics

I was not ready for the fish hook death omen sequence. This show keeps pretending it is a cozy comedy and then drops horror on you like that. The directing in the hospital scene was so good. Also Chiyo putting instant noodles on the shrine altar is peak gremlin energy

Dara-san saving young Chiyo with that terrifying gaze made me tear up a little. The whole gratitude vs dread thing is wild when you think about it. This god was literally rewritten by people being nice to her and bringing her instant curry

I got emotional when Dara melted into that beanbag cushion but then completely lost it at the Santa suit scene. Then the flashback came and I was crying again. This show is a mess of tones and I love every second of it

Hanako-sensei being a lonely ghost just vibing in the faculty room instead of hiding in a toilet is the best subversion I've seen all season. Also the boob statue at midnight got me laughing way too hard

The school only having four mysteries and one of them being a fish a teacher threw in a river is the most backwater town energy I've ever seen. Also Hanako-sensei being just a normal teacher who sits near the door got me good

That livestreamer girl getting replaced by a spiritual copy after touching the arm was actually terrifying and the way the video just lied about it afterward is so creepy

Jurota holding that severed arm like it was his lover's hand was somehow the most romantic and most horrifying thing this show has done. This show really does the Horror-Romance thing better than shows that try on purpose

Dara-san switching to her priestess avatar and brutally dicing up that snake spirit with a kitchen knife was cold and the shift in animation quality during that exact moment was unreal

I love how this show can switch from dark historical lore about severed curse arms to a teacher dreaming of a sexy bakeneko and it somehow completely works every single time

I honestly lost my mind when Kaoru just casually introduced Dara-san as his wife to his friends like it was the most normal thing in the world

the way Dara-san just sliced up that snake spirit with a kitchen knife made me laugh so hard and then it showed up all shriveled the next morning

Very emotional episode as we get to witness Dara's final goodbye to Jurota. I wonder if the local shrine was him doing everything he could to make sure that people remembered Dara positively.

Even after all the emotional revelations, the wholesome scene with Kaoru's mom fangirling over the Dara plushie was the perfect way to lighten the mood without ruining the episode's impact xD

Jurota's devotion was incredibly moving. Spending his life honoring Dara and unknowingly becoming a deity himself was one of the most heartfelt reveals in the series.

The world-building was phenomenal. Connecting the local shrine, the village legends, and Dara-san's tragic past made the supernatural setting feel rich, believable, and full of history.
