EPISODE REVIEWS

You see Dara-san trying to understand gunpla and it really shows how far she has come from being just a scary mountain spirit and her connecting it to spirit construction was actually sweet

It was funny watching her get scolded for reading in the bookstore, but the sudden jump into the serpent battle was a lot to take in during one episode

Episode Context

A domestic comedy episode that gradually curdles into something stranger. When Kaoru asks Dara-san to illustrate the past, Dara-san's hopeless drawing skills turn a simple storytelling request into awkward, low-stakes humor. Meanwhile, Hinata's school routine is unsettled by Shu Hatsusegawa, a new transfer student whose composed maturity reads as suspicious rather than impressive. The episode moves between small household gags, schoolyard introduction, and uneasy hints of older spiritual conflicts centered on Yamatagi-Madara. The surface stays warm and absurd, but the tone keeps tilting toward dread as the history surrounding Yamatagi-Madara presses into the present. A deliberate transition installment that keeps comedy front and center while quietly raising the stakes for what comes next.
