Synopsis
After escaping certain death, Kei Nagai and his new companion Kou Nakano plot revenge on Satou, their fellow Ajin who is hellbent on world domination. As Satou embarks on a string of public executions, the human race rushes to come up with a solution to stop the immortal villain. Kei discovers unlikely allies in the form of two former adversaries: high-ranking government official Yuu Tosaki, whose extensive research on Ajin gives him a tactical advantage in the fight against Satou, and Tosaki's Ajin assistant Izumi Shimomura. Although the ending was created specifically for the anime and tends to divide opinion, the journey getting there is incredibly entertaining. Virtually the entire season focuses on the planning and execution of a single massive mission, so there’s never a dull moment. You watch this for combat strategies and to see Satō acting like a madman, not to get emotional. Even so, the relationship between Kei and the others still has its moments.

It is a very open-ended conclusion that resolves the immediate problem, yet you know the danger never truly goes away.

This was foreshadowed from the start, and I was waiting for this since that moment. This feels like a good enough ending; let’s just maybe ignore the last few scenes since there’s no third season in sight :)
