Sakamoto Days
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Once the most feared hitman alive, Tarou Sakamoto left it all behind when he fell in love, had a kid, gained a bunch of weight, and opened a convenience store. Now he's just a chubby dad in an apron trying to keep the shelves stocked and his family happy. The problem is, the criminal underworld didn't get the memo that he's retired. Former partners, rival assassins, and people with grudges keep showing up at his door, and Sakamoto has to deal with all of them without breaking the one rule his wife set: no killing. What makes Sakamoto Days work so well is the gap between who this guy looks like and what he can actually do. He'll take out a room full of trained killers using store merchandise and whatever's lying around, all while looking like he'd rather be restocking the rice aisle. The animation from TMS Entertainment is genuinely fluid: the fight choreography hits hard and the comedy lands right alongside it, never feeling like one undercuts the other. Shin Asakura, his old partner who can read minds, shows up early and their dynamic carries a lot of the show's heart. If you liked the domestic-life-meets-danger energy of Spy x Family or the retired-killer comedy of The Way of the Househusband but wished it had real action scenes, this is exactly what you're looking for. Eleven episodes from the shounen manga, and the pacing stays tight throughout.

Characters are strong ang face card valid
The story is average but Overall Awesome.
There is a lot of humor in it. Also plenty of cool stuff and ability.
Thought it was a meme comedy series but turns out the it’s also action packed. Especially season 2!
The episode really wastes no time in setting the tone for what kind of journey we're about to embark on. A splash of backstory on how Taro is the boogeyman of this universe, and a satisfactory serving of action to show that he's still got it, washed as he might look.
Nagumo's introduction flips the power dynamic completely. Watching Sakamoto genuinely struggle against someone faster is thrilling. The lip-reading gag is hilarious but the underlying tension never drops. Sakamoto Days proves it can be serious too.
There is actually a greater danger out there and it is not just the hitmen that are after Taro.We get a more understanding of the organization that Taro and Shin used to work for which then brings more understanding to the series.
WE get to see that Taro is willing to do anything to protect his family.Lu is a bit out of it,but it is interesting that she can still fight even after she takes her "anxiety medication".We are introduced to a physically different Sakamoto and that is the plot twist in this episode.
This episode is where things start to get tricky for Taro as he has to protect his family while also ensuring that he does not get himself killed.Shin is very skilled and is also a great listener. We are introduced to Nagumo who is quite mysterious and Shin is not able to read his mind so we still have a lot to uncover and /or learn about him.
Most definitely a 10/10.The storytelling is impeccable.Shin is most definitely a huge fan of Taro and he is very helpful with tending to him when they were fighting the twin assassins. We are introduced to Lu who is being chased and Taro decides to help her. This shows that Taro is in fact a changed man and he is keeping his promise to his wife.
Episode one is literally amazing,it gives an insightful background of who Taro Sakamoto was as a hitman and then now who he is as a family man.He has become a caring man who also takes care of the people around the neighbourhood. We are introduced to Shin and he is most definitely an all rounder;he can fight excellently and he is also clairvoyant which is a really cool and also helpful gift/power.Even though Taro is retired,he still shows us that he is highly skilled when it comes to fighting and quick thinking.
A rescue mission turns personal as Shin confronts the origin of his powers. The lab isn’t just an enemy base—it’s his past. As truths surface, the fight escalates, ending in a shocking, emotional blow.
The casino fight is chaotic and creative—chips, tables, everything becomes a weapon. Shin’s telepathy shines in a setting built on deception, while Sakamoto casually dominates. Stylish, fun, and very on-brand
Well, the battle arena is a bit different this time. This is definitely a low-key cliffhanger to end the season. And that Slur dude is getting famous. This bunch of fugitives gives off such cringe energy, but there’s so much to look forward to now!
While the first half was a bit more low-key & chill compared to the previous bangers, it was the perfect breather after all that high intense chaos at the lab. Are we finally getting that Lu spotlight momint or what?
The fighting scenes are so wild and neat at the same time. The motions blend into each other without looking stiff or trying hard. There are no awkward pauses between a punch and a kick, uggg so satisfying to watch.
So many different squads pulling up all at once lol. It’s pure chaos but why the most of the characters are surprisingly calm? That's a great balance! Nice one, Heisuke, didn't see that coming!
