The episode really wastes no time in setting the tone for what kind of journey we're about to embark on. A splash of backstory on how Taro is the boogeyman of this universe, and a satisfactory serving of action to show that he's still got it, washed as he might look.

Episode one is literally amazing,it gives an insightful background of who Taro Sakamoto was as a hitman and then now who he is as a family man.He has become a caring man who also takes care of the people around the neighbourhood. We are introduced to Shin and he is most definitely an all rounder;he can fight excellently and he is also clairvoyant which is a really cool and also helpful gift/power.Even though Taro is retired,he still shows us that he is highly skilled when it comes to fighting and quick thinking.

Dang! That's an epic introduction and the MC's dramatic entrance sold me right away. The animation really fit the assassin theme perfectly. Fighting scenes were so dope with the old school vibe inspired filters and textures, so nostalgic. Solid 10/10!

Premise is simple but hits—top-tier assassin turns into a lowkey normal dude, but danger still follows him. The contrast is funny and kinda hype. Not deep yet, but super fun start that pulls you in fast.

Decent start with a fun premise. Sakamoto as a retired hitman turned dad is entertaining but the animation felt basic for a Jump title. Action was solid enough, hoping it picks up from here.

Once feared as a legendary hitman, Sakamoto now lives a quiet life running a convenience store with his family. When his past catches up to him, the episode blends sharp action with comedy while introducing the unlikely partnership between Sakamoto and Shin.

This premiere is fun and does a great job introducing Sakamoto's life in a way that is both funny and exciting. Action scenes plus with the wholesome family energy makes it entertaining. Not your typical action anime.

This episode opens with the captivating duality of his life, caught in the delicate balance between the warmth of family and the shadowy world of an assassin.

Excellent premise! We're treated to a homely anime with a moral lesson of protecting what is important to your heart - which is surprising, considering the amount of blood we see uncensored in this episode alone. Sakamoto's skills have not faded at all in the slightest and we can look forward to how creative he can be in skirting around his No-Kill rule!

The “legendary hitman” is now a dad in an apron. Peak downgrade… or maybe upgrade? The episode balances grocery bags and gunfire like it’s normal. It’s funny how casually deadly he still is. Retirement clearly did not nerf him.

It’s a strong start to the series. The fight scene animation is great, and the short introduction to the protagonist is effective. I especially love how it begins with an action-packed scene of Sakamoto back when he was still a hitman.

Great opening episode, falling in love can stop anything, even legendary assassins! Shin must take out his idol, a now domesticated, harmless Sakamoto. Can this ramen slurping dad bod be such an easy target, or does Sakamoto still have the skills to back up the legendary name.

It was actually a good start. I was kinda worried the animation might not live up to the manga, but there's still room to grow. Comedy and action were all in place. Loved the intro of everything and the misconceptions built from humor. Looking forward to the next episodes.

A fat convenience store dad who can still one-hand slam an assassin into the pavement? Say less. The premiere sets the whole vibe instantly, recommended to watch!

Just watched the first episode of Sakamoto Days, and I’m already hooked. The contrast between Sakamoto’s peaceful family life and his deadly assassin past is hilarious and exciting. Great action, clean animation, and solid pacing—definitely staying on my watch list.

The choreography for the fights and stuff was actually pretty good too, which I liked. And yeah, I already know this isn’t even close to how crazy the action gets later on, so I’m just gonna sit back and enjoy the ride and see how wild it gets from here.

Episode 1 instantly made me fall in love. The way they introduced the main character was so well done, and the chemistry felt natural and effortless. The comedy was on peak, the timing hit perfectly. It balanced action and slice of life really well. Such a strong opening.

this is an action comedy that you need! the humor doesn't come from jokes alone, but from visual and tonal contrast, giving a comfortable pacing. violence is stylized, humor is undrstandable, and Sakamoto succed to introduce himself from a pro hitman to a typical family man

It blends comedic slice-of-life moments with sharp, creative action, highlighting a strong relationship setup between Sakamoto and the psychic assassin Shin.

EPISODE CONTEXT — Series Opening / Introduction Arc

As the series premiere and first of eleven episodes, 'The Legendary Hit Man' is pure foundation—introducing Sakamoto, his family, and the central tension between his peaceful present and violent past. The arrival of Shin Asakura signals the inciting conflict that will drive the season forward, as Sakamoto's retired status proves increasingly difficult to maintain. Everything that follows this episode builds on the character dynamics and stakes established here.
