If I could rate this episode 6 stars, I absolutely would. Not only is it the most mind-blowing episode of the series in my opinion, but it's one of the most mind-blowing moments I have ever witnessed in any anime period. Such a deep and emotional rollercoaster of a journey that it's hard to describe it in words. It left me completely speechless from beginning to end. All I can say is, the final episode is peak, and even saying that doesn't do it justice. As for the whole series itself, it was an amazing ride overall. There were a few parts in there that felt a bit rushed, but I'm satisfied with all of the stories. All in all, an unforgettable experience!

Here we are at the final arc of the series. It takes us back into the distant future again, where the world is practically destroyed and humanity is on the brink of extinction. For a first episode, they really went all out on this one. We were introduced to a new set of characters, but all of a sudden, the action quickly happened out of nowhere. It was fast-paced, intense, and most of all, emotional. They didn't have to go so hard on this episode, but I'm glad they did!

What a phenomenal wrap-up to this arc. My hunch about a final battle in this arc is right and it really delivered on all fronts. The pacing was just right, the fight scenes were amazing, and the gods taking part in it was the icing on the cake. To me, it was definitely worth waiting for the last episode, because the arc clicks for me now. It rekindled some of that magic that the first arc had. An excellent episode, and one of my favorites in this unique series!

Now this is a very solid episode. Things are starting to heat up in this arc. The episode started off pretty slow, but things got intense at the second half, with some amazing action sequences. I like it better than the last episode overall. It seems like it's setting up for a pretty big battle in the next episode. Let's see what happens, though.

The episode starts off pretty wholesome. We finally see Harima - I mean, Inugami now, happy and living out his life as leader of a village. He also protects a sacred shrine near his village from being taken down for development purposes. This is the main focal point of the story, where wants to safeguard it from the Imperial Court. However, they were getting impatient with Inugami, which leads to some pretty violent confrontations in this episode. While I liked the episode, it didn't really wowed me or surprised me like the last episodes have. Hopefully the next episodes will make up for it.

What an incredible ending to an already phenomenal storyline! Continuing right from the previous chapter, this second part wrapped up Masato's emotional arc in such a heartfelt and meaningful way. The final moments delivered a truly beautiful message, shedding profound light on the deeper themes of existence and connection. A brilliant, emotionally uplifting episode that leaves a lasting impression!

Stepping into yet another distinct timeline, this episode plunges us into an advanced futuristic setting filled with thrilling chaos! The beautiful intersection between high-tech science and a tender, heartfelt love story gave the narrative incredible emotional resonance. Seeing familiar faces reappear across time added great depth, making this imaginative and beautifully balanced chapter an absolute joy to watch!

A thrilling continuation that keeps the focus entirely on Harima Inugami's intense personal journey! The sudden outbreak of brutal war plunged the episode into relentless chaos, delivering fierce battle sequences and high-stakes combat. While the resolution brought a powerful climax to this chapter, the bittersweet and melancholic undertones gave the ending a deeply touching emotional weight. An action-packed and moving installment!

Another new arc with a new cast of characters. This time, the new main character is named Harima and right off the bat, we're already greeted to his unfortunate curse. Because of this, he is shunned by people and forced to hide in order to survive. It seems we're heading in to the more fantastical side of this series now. The last episode kind of hinted on it, but now we're really seeing that side in its full glory. I'm looking forward to this new arc!

Once again, a new arc set in a new era. It also appears we've gone hundreds of years back to the past as opposed to the futuristic setting from the last two episodes. This time, we follow a swordswoman named Sakon-no-suke, who is stuck at a temple with no place to go. At first, I thought story would be pretty straightforward, but then they brought a lot of weird fantasy elements to it. I really like that twist in the story. Speaking of twist, what really sold this episode for me was the insane plot twist at the end. Although this appears to be only episode for the arc, I liked it better than the previous one. Let's keep those crazy arcs like this coming!

This episode is pretty fascinating. In here, we see Leona's tragic past uncovered, as well as the terrible incident that left him with a deteriorated mental state. It also shows a developing relationship with him and Chihiro. I find it kind of weird, but it works pretty well. Judging by the way the episode ended, I would assume that it's the end of this specific arc. If that's the case, it's kind of a unfortunate, because I do want to see more of this arc. Let's see what the next episodes will have in store, though.

Here we are at a new arc in a new era, hundreds of years into the future this time around. We're introduced to a brand new set of characters (including one with a suspiciously familiar looking face) and a different places as well. One thing that hasn't changed is our shining magical bird that emits a beautiful glow in the sky. I'm really intrigued at this new era. It'll be a bit strange not having the rock solid cast from the last four episodes, but regardless, I'm looking forward to the new adventures with the Phoenix.

From one banger after another, this episode also delivers. It's focused on Sarutahiko and Nagi again, as they are about to participate in a grueling battle. The whole episode is nothing short of emotional. Like the previous episode, there's a lot of death and destruction. No comic relief either this time; just dark and violent all around. The whole episode was a feel trip through and through. Apparently this is where the story for these characters end. If this is indeed the last time we'll see them, then it was quite a ride. An amazing experience for sure, and I'll be looking forward to the next arcs!

Dark, somber, and downright intense. These are what I would describe this episode. It left me practically speechless from beginning to end. I thought the volcano eruption was terrifying, but man, things just kept going downhill for the main characters. So much death and destruction going on that at times, it was a bit hard to watch. Despite all of that though, they manage to sprinkle some comic relief here and there. A phenomenal episode overall!

Watching the narrative unfold and seeing Harima Inugami endure such harsh suffering makes your heart ache for him, especially given his pure and noble nature. The portrayal of his deep, unwavering love brings a remarkably touching and powerful emotional core to the intense atmosphere. A phenomenal and emotionally charged episode!

A fantastic second part that directly builds upon the previous episode with immense emotional depth! Keeping the narrative tightly focused on Harima and Obaba gave the journey a poignant core before the situation escalated into sheer danger. Witnessing the awe-inspiring presence and mystical power of the Phoenix once again was an absolute highlight. The storyline is becoming increasingly engaging, proving that each episode is outdoing the last!

An entirely new timeline and chapter that completely shifts the setting with fantastic results! Diving headfirst into a world filled with magical wonders, mythical beasts, and heavy tragedy brought a fresh, high-stakes energy to the series. The narrative connections were brilliantly executed, making the storyline flow effortlessly while Saruta’s return anchored the overarching lore perfectly. A rich, intriguing, and memorable installment!

A fascinating shift into yet another distinct historical timeline! Transitioning into the era of emperors and samurai brought a fresh, vibrant aesthetic while keeping the series' grand essence alive. The way this chapter showcased the Phoenix's immense mystical power in action was deeply captivating, unveiling far deeper layers of its true nature. With an intriguing cast of new faces and rich historical world-building, the storytelling remains brilliantly engaging!

I didn't expect the father-son dynamic between Nagi and Sarutahiko to work well here, seeing as what the latter did in the first episode. I was thinking Nagi would experience torment that would be difficult to watch, but nope, it's the opposite. The moments with Sarutahiko and Nagi were actually pretty wholesome despite the tension between the two. We also get to see more of the one who orchestrated the invasion, who is Himiko. I have to say, she is absolutely vile, with very few, if any, redeeming qualities. I didn't think I'd be rooting for Sarutahiko because of what he did, but now I do. Great character development I'm noticing so far with this series!

First off, I have to say that the intro to this anime is some of the best I have ever seen. It's honestly hard to put in words how breathtaking it was. It was a journey from start to finish! As for the episode itself, it definitely caught my attention. The first bit already started off pretty crazy, but then becomes slow-paced afterwards. It seems like it was going to be a wholesome, slice of life episode at first, but then, oh boy, things took a really dark turn. It definitely caught me off guard at how brutal things got. I'm pretty hooked now, and I'm curious to see where the series will go from here!
