This episode was really emotional. Seeing Subaru travel to Tokushima, knowing it was a place his parents had planned to visit before they died, made him confront how much he still misses them. He starts to realise that there were parts of his parents’ lives and dreams that he never got to know.

I really enjoyed seeing Subaru interact with Narumi and Haru-chan while they shared a meal. It was nice seeing him slowly become more comfortable around people instead of immediately wanting to retreat into his own world. I also loved how natural the interaction felt. Subaru is still awkward, but he is making an effort to engage with them, and the girls make it easy for him to feel comfortable. It was a simple scene, but it showed just how much Subaru has changed since the beginning of the series.

I also loved seeing Subaru slowly realise that his writing means something to other people. Watching him become more comfortable as the signing went on was really nice, especially because we know how uncomfortable he usually is around people. The episode does a great job showing how both Subaru and Haru are learning to reach out in their own ways.

I really enjoyed seeing Subaru’s childhood in this episode and learning more about how his love for books and writing began. His memories of his parents were especially touching. I also loved seeing Haru trying to take care of Subaru in her own way. She notices that he isn’t okay and tries to help, showing that their relationship has become a two-way exchange of care.

This episode was honestly so funny because Subaru’s quiet little world gets completely turned upside down when Hiroto’s siblings come over. He is clearly not prepared for the amount of energy and chaos that comes with having four children in the house. I also loved seeing the episode from Haru’s perspective. She’s cautious around the children at first, but she remembers what she learned about protecting the little ones. It was really sweet seeing her instinctively look out for them, even while she was completely exhausted by the end.
