Subaru trying to become more responsible through cooking is simple, but it is very satisfying to watch. The episode stays grounded in tiny everyday wins, and that is exactly where this series shines. Haru’s food-focused thought process remains hilarious, hahaha!
I really enjoyed seeing Subaru interact with Narumi and Haru-chan while they shared a meal. It was nice seeing him slowly become more comfortable around people instead of immediately wanting to retreat into his own world. I also loved how natural the interaction felt. Subaru is still awkward, but he is making an effort to engage with them, and the girls make it easy for him to feel comfortable. It was a simple scene, but it showed just how much Subaru has changed since the beginning of the series.
