Synopsis
A cheerful eighth-grader named Kaede Minami freezes up completely around her crush. To fix that, she summons a love fairy from a magical cocoa mug she bought at a mysterious shop — and that's where her plan immediately falls apart. The fairy who shows up, a tiny blue-clad prince named Mirumo, has zero interest in helping her win over a boy. He's more concerned with eating chocolate and causing chaos, having fled his own world specifically to avoid an arranged marriage. So now Kaede is stuck with a mischievous magical companion who refuses to cooperate, while also trying to navigate middle school crushes and friendships. More muglox characters start showing up too, each with their own personalities and quirks, and the whole thing gets wonderfully chaotic from there. The magic system is genuinely charming — the muglox use musical instruments to cast spells, which gives everything a whimsical, storybook feel. If you grew up with Cardcaptor Sakura or Magical DoReMi and want something in that same warm, emotionally earnest space, this fits right in. It also scratches a similar itch to Shugo Chara! with its blend of school-life romance and magical companions. At 172 episodes it's a long ride, but the tone is consistently youthful and sweet, built for anyone who enjoys slow-burn shoujo romance wrapped in genuinely funny fantasy comedy.
