Episode Context

Coming off Episode 164's festive, large-scale summer battle, the series now narrows its focus to intimate romantic conflict between Sumita and Kikuki-kun, a deliberate tonal shift from collective celebration to personal rivalry. At Episode 165 of 172, the show is deep in its endgame stretch, and this confrontation feels positioned to escalate tensions rather than resolve them. The following episode, 'The storm of love raging...', suggests this battle is less a conclusion and more a catalyst for the romantic turbulence that will carry the series toward its finale.
