Episode Context

Coming off 'Murumo and the Flying Baby,' which leaned into whimsy with its mysterious infant premise, this episode pivots the narrative toward life, death, and what lies beyond, a notably heavier direction for the series this late in its run. At Episode 142 of 172, the show is building toward its endgame, and this installment signals a more serious thematic register taking hold. It directly sets the stage for 'F. D. C VS K. T. C,' which introduces fresh conflicts and shifting character dynamics.
