Episode Context

Arriving directly after Episode 142's introduction of a mysterious Shinigami figure, this episode pumps the brakes on intrigue and delivers a palate-cleansing competitive romp before the series pivots again. It sits as a transitional interlude between heavier character moments, bridging toward Episode 144, which teases unexpected romantic developments within the Warumo Group. At Episode 143 of 172, the series is deep into its final stretch, and lighter episodes like this one serve as breathing room before the endgame character arcs accelerate.
