Knights of Sidonia

Pretty decent anime, honestly. The pacing was mostly consistent, the soundtrack was at its peak, the visuals were absolutely stunning and engaging to watch, and the plot pretty much summed up whatever needed to be summed up. Izana is truly the goat, but I still dislike Norio.

Gotta appreciate the voice acting in this, too, man, the raw fear in their voices does get your heart pumping. Absolutely intense from start to finish. It's amazing to see how the Gauna learns and adapts so the captain and her advisors can't use the same tactics twice. You really need to think out of the box to earn your victory.

Not Nagate actually being interested in Ena... the resemblance it has to Hoshijiro has me very creeped out. The lore drop in this episode was pretty interesting and weird. I can't wait for the big finale, especially with that Gauna that supposedly is Hoshijiro's Garde.

Norio is quite a snoop. Fortunately, ever since he's been out of action, Nagate has been having quite a good win streak. However, I don't think this jolly good time is gonna last forever. I also love how both Midori and Izana were trying to pry him away from the creepy ena - especially with it trying to copy Hoshijiro's mannerisms and everything. Props to Numi for figuring out the potential storm before the calm fr.

Quite fascinating, the lore drop was perfectly paced and done in such a way that the episode did not feel boring at all. Lala really is the goat, and the reason why Tanikaze is coddled so much finally makes sense. Gramps has got crazy moves - definitely a fun watch. The vibe was pretty creepy, though. No wonder Norio had an anxiety attack.

Holy shit, that first part really makes your blood boil, especially every time Norio is on screen. I do hope he gets what he deserves. That "man" put everyone's lives at risk just to get his way. It's pretty depressing to see how Tanikaze's victory celebration was extremely short, and his mistakes (which weren't even his) are something he's being constantly reminded of. The anime does a really good job at getting you invested with every episode ending, on to the next!

Man, Tanikaze and Hoshijiro couldn't even finish their date properly. I really liked the subtle foreshadowing throughout, though. Norio was definitely a huge red flag not to be trusted at all. The minute bro started talking about getting along, I heard the warning bells ring in my head. This was an excellent episode, and it really gets you hyped up for the next.

Tanikaze is definitely getting more likeable with each episode. He didn't need to go after Hoshijiro and put himself in danger, but he chose to. Even when he didn't know what the outcome was gonna be. The action was lacking, but this one was still pretty interesting and honestly quite wholesome<3 The visuals were pretty too!

The pacing was consistent from start to finish, and it really kept me completely engaged. The start, especially, was extremely strong. Kobayashi had to make some really tough decisions this time, and it looks like her investment is really paying off.

Glad to see Nagate is improving his people skills quite a bit and having more normal-sounding conversations; the way he stuck up for Izana makes him somewhat likeable. The pacing seems decent to me and really picks up towards the second half. The animation is a bit choppy at times, but the plot really keeps you engaged.

What a high-stakes finale! You could really feel the desperation with everyone ready to make sacrifices to save Sidonia. The adrenaline was insane, especially during the final showdown between Tanikaze and Benisuzume. It was the perfect epic conclusion.

That was pure, intense adrenaline! The show did an amazing job capturing the high stakes, but man, those upper echelons are infuriating. They're so entirely selfish that I'm just hoping the Hoshijiro-placenta clone to completely take them out.

This is another setup episode, but the tension is dialed up significantly thanks to Tanikaze's new discoveries and another massive MVP moment for him. The cliffhanger hits perfectly, making it very clear that the stage is officially set for the season finale.

It completely feels like the calm before the storm, which becomes incredibly obvious by the end of the episode. While Tanikaze is getting well-deserved recognition, watching the placenta in the laboratory feels deeply unsettling. Honestly, throughout the whole episode, I just had this lingering feeling that something is very off.

Whatever you do, don't miss this episode. The action is incredibly intense as they face off against the disturbing Gaunas that genuinely make you feel uncomfortable. It does a fantastic job of answering some of the biggest questions so far and serves as a perfect setup episode as we head toward the finale.

That was an incredibly heavy episode. Losing a key character after all that build-up and screen time is a massive blow, but kudos to the author. They aren't afraid to kill off characters close to the protagonist for the sake of a better story and real emotional weight.

What was up with that time skip right before the episode ended? If it's part of a setup, it better be worth it. I wonder what kind of development or twist they are making with the plot. Other than that, the tension leveled up incredibly fast.

The pilot suits are quite something, ngl, and it's interesting to see the methods humans adopt for their own survival. The first half is quite action-heavy, and the second half too keeps you quite engaged with the aftermath of the battle. The rice thief seems to be likeable while in combat mode, but he still seems to be at an all-time low with his social interactions</3.

We finally got some answers about Tanikaze's background and his grandfather. It also shed some light on the captain, making it much clearer why she puts so much trust in Tanikaze. This episode was a nice breather after that previous intense one, but it didn't feel boring at all since we got to see those great moments between Hoshijiro and Tanikaze

The world-building is quite decent, and the 3d animation style is pretty fascinating, not too much of A fan, but it's easy to get used to. I don't like the main character much at the moment - his dialogues seem to include mostly "oohs" and "ahhs", and he seems quite clumsy. Hopefully he turns out to be likeable. The plot seems to be promising, though, and the visuals are quite stimulating.
