Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You
Oshimeter
Synopsis
With her long dark hair and pale complexion, Sawako Kuronuma bears an uncanny resemblance to the ghost girl from The Ring, and her classmates have run with it. They call her Sadako, spread rumors that she can curse people, and basically treat her like she's haunted. The thing is, she's genuinely one of the sweetest people alive, but she just has no idea how to show it. Then there's Kazehaya, the most popular guy in class, who actually talks to her like a normal person. That small act of kindness starts to crack open Sawako's world in ways she never expected. This is a 25-episode TV series from Production I.G, adapted from a shoujo manga, and it's set in a Hokkaido high school that feels lived-in and real. The romance is there, but it's slow and earned. What really carries the show is watching Sawako figure out how to make friends, how to speak up, how to stop assuming everyone hates her. The character development is genuinely authentic: you feel every small victory she has. The pacing is deliberate. If you want constant drama or love triangles every episode, this might test your patience. But if you liked the emotional warmth of Fruits Basket, the grounded school life of Skip and Loafer, or the quiet intimacy of Horimiya, this hits that same spot. It's romantic and emotional without ever feeling manipulative about it. The kind of show that sneaks up on you and leaves you thinking about it days later.

I appreciate Sawako being so social awkward she doesn't realize she's up against her bully (as someone who has been in this position).
The discussion of how various hair styles could look on Sawako was
I feel like Sawako might have a her first rival, and I don't know how she'll handle that.
Nice little fun bridge between arcs.
