Teenagers gotta be dumb teenagers.

Because of rumors, Sawako believes she caused trouble for Yano and Yoshida, so she distances herself to avoid hurting them. She also becomes awkward and avoids Kazehaya.

Episode Context

Coming off Episode 3's encouraging progress where Sawako began genuinely connecting with classmates after school, Episode 4 introduces the first real threat to those relationships through circulating rumors and misunderstandings. This is an early-season turning point, only four episodes in out of twenty-five, it establishes that Sawako's journey won't be a smooth upward climb. It directly sets up Episode 5, 'Determination,' where the characters must confront the fallout and decide whether their bonds are worth fighting for.
