Heaven Official's Blessing Season 2
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Not a single god in heaven wants anything to do with Xie Lian. He was once the beloved Crown Prince of Xianle, but after ascending to heaven and getting kicked back down, twice, he's basically the celestial equivalent of that coworker everyone avoids in the break room. Now he's back for a third time with zero followers, zero respect, and the worst luck you can imagine. His one bright spot is Hua Cheng, a Ghost King so powerful that even the gods are terrified of him, who for some reason has decided Xie Lian is the most interesting person in existence. Season 2 of this 12-episode ONA from Red Dog Culture House picks up with the heavenly court side-eyeing Xie Lian's connection to Hua Cheng while a new threat emerges that pulls them deeper into each other's orbits. The dynamic between these two carries the whole thing; there's genuine warmth underneath all the mythology and ghost-fighting, and the show earns its emotional beats instead of forcing them. The animation leans into traditional Chinese aesthetics in a way that feels lived-in rather than decorative, and the action sequences have real weight to them. If you liked Mo Dao Zu Shi or Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, this is from the same author and hits similar notes of fantasy, layered history, and complicated relationships. Fans of The King's Avatar will appreciate the production quality. Just know going in that the slow burn is very much the point.

More plot happening in S2. Ghost City Arc is my top 3 fav in the books!
This is good to wrap up the finale season. The overall animation is great, the lore was kind of heavy and emotional. I think the storytelling and the connections of each lore needs recognition because it was PEAK.
I’m loving the effects! The animation never fails to amaze me, I love the old Chinese vibe. This is more into dialogues and word play. Nan Feng and San Lang were like cats and dogs and it was so funny to watch.
That lower angle was so weird. But the rest of the animation was amazing. The lore adds more depth to the story. I was so shocked and not going to lie it was a jaw dropping episode.
Xie Lian being able to do it with just words, PEAK. He is really kind in nature and calm. It’s a dialogue craze episode and the lore was good. I really enjoy the animation and the word play.
I knew it! There’s another reason behind that. San Lang's way of fighting and how quick he thinks were jawdropping. I was really shocked by what happened at the end of the episode. The animation effects are also good.
Slower and reflective, giving you time to breathe and process. Not flashy, but meaningful.
Climax energy. Everything feels like it’s colliding at once, even if not everything is fully resolved.
A standout. Big character focus with emotional weight and power moments. This one hits.
Action-heavy chaos with betrayals and intensity all around. Definitely one of the most exciting episodes.
The drama shifts into politics and moral gray areas. You start questioning everyone a bit more.
Psychological, emotional, and a little painful to watch. This episode leans into internal struggles more than external fights.
Now we’re talking tension. The environment feels hostile, unpredictable, and honestly stressful in a good way.
A quieter, emotional episode that hits harder if you’re invested. Not action-packed, but it adds real depth.
Things finally start moving. A mix of mystery and action, with great character moments that remind you why this duo works so well.
This one is all about lore and stakes. It might feel a bit heavy on explanations, but the world-building here is crucial and actually pretty fascinating.
A moody, atmospheric opener that leans hard into mystery rather than action. It doesn’t rush you, but it pulls you in with tension and subtle hints that something big is coming.
A soft, emotional landing rather than a huge explosive finale. It’s more about connection than spectacle.
The sounds e-ming produced T_T. The animation was nice, the effects of the dice, and the places that Feng Xin and Mu Qing went to were animated great. The story progression is also good, tackling the story bit by bit. And it’s been a rollercoaster ride of emotion.
Uncovered the past and genuinely felt bad for both sides. Aside from that, I really can’t help but giggle whenever I see Hua Cheng! The waist grab mother! The knight in shining crimson armor! I love the details for e-ming and the white butterflies. Overall, it’s so good!
