Xie Lian being able to do it with just words, PEAK. He is really kind in nature and calm. It’s a dialogue craze episode and the lore was good. I really enjoy the animation and the word play.

A standout. Big character focus with emotional weight and power moments. This one hits.

HC really wasn't about to let QiRong disrespect XL like that lol. That slap was so satisfying (it's funny how it's also the most replayed part) And the white ferret and mask with the eyepatch?? <3

Episode Context

Positioned at the three-quarter mark of this 12-episode season, Episode 9 deliberately downshifts after Episode 8's introduction of Qi Rong and new antagonistic threats, pivoting to character history and emotional groundwork. This reflective detour is structurally critical, the revelations and relationship dynamics explored here feed directly into Episode 10, 'Bloodstained Banquet,' where consequences begin cascading toward the season's climax. It's the calm before what promises to be an intense final act.
