Synopsis
A slum kid named Rudo scavenges the trash thrown away by the wealthy elites who live in the Sphere, a floating structure far above the ground. To them, everything below is garbage, including the people. When his adoptive father Regto is murdered and Rudo gets framed for it, he's sentenced to be thrown into the Pit, a massive abyss where the city dumps its waste and its criminals. Nobody comes back from the Pit. Except Rudo doesn't die. Down in the depths, he discovers a world of survivors called Givers who can breathe life into discarded objects and turn them into weapons. The junk that society threw away becomes the source of real power. This is a 24-episode TV series from Bones Film airing in 2025, adapted from the shounen manga, and it has a visual identity that actually stands out. the art style leans into graffiti-inspired aesthetics co-developed with artist Hideyoshi Andou, giving everything a raw, textured look you don't usually see in anime. The soundtrack by Taku Iwasaki (Gurren Lagann, Bungo Stray Dogs) matches the intensity beat for beat. If you liked the grimy worldbuilding of Dorohedoro, the vertigo-inducing descent of Made in Abyss, or the class warfare rage of Attack on Titan, this hits similar notes while doing its own thing. The themes of social inequality and what society considers disposable give it weight beyond the action, though the action delivers plenty on its own.

Extremely disturbing yet vital. Since ep 1, they've tackled social issues, but this exposes the harsh truth: such disgusting people exist. A hard watch, but production is top-tier. Colorful toys, ceiling things were haunting details that added to the eerie atmosphere.
Feels like a high-budget film. It clearly shows the injustice and discrimination in the world and how not everyone lives under the same conditions, showing how one man's trash is another's diamond. And this anime reflects that very well, even in its first episode.
Meow meow meow meow
This was actually getting interesting. From my opinion, maybe it was a long break that I stopped watching it that it didn't really give an appeal to me anymore, lol. If I'm gonna be objective, though, the story was getting intriguing and would had me hooked if it was me months ago.
Damn good
The craziest anime I watched, it's good tho. I literally watch the whole season in a day and a half. Imthe ending was unexpected.
Love the World building
Mannnn this is my new fav anime
Nice anime, typical shounen, but fresh because of steampunk aesthetic
It’s an episode of transition, as the Cleaners embark on an expedition that promises to reveal more about the world’s garbage history than ever before. Ending the finale with more mystries. Definetly a good anime to watch.
Rudo is no longer just surviving, he’s actively evolving. This episode shows his resolve to surpass everyone around him, not out of ego, but because the world he lives in demands nothing less than absolute strength.
As the Cleaners deal with the aftermath of the recent surge, we see the true weight of Rudo's growth, not just as a fighter, but as someone who is beginning to value what he protects more than what he destroys.
In this episode the Cleaners are pushed to their absolute limits as they race against a literal clock to prevent a catastrophic surge in the Pit. Rudo’s growing mastery over his Vital Instrument is finally starting to close the gap between him and the enimies.
This episode dives deeper into the philosophy of the Cleaners and the souls residing within objects. In this world of trash , we're seeing how Rudo's resolve is being forged through fire.
Gachiakuta Ep 1 is a visceral, stylish debut. Studio Bones nails the "trash-punk" aesthetic, blending gritty visuals with a heartbreaking story of social injustice. The animation perfectly captures Rudo’s transition from a desperate scavenger to a victim of a corrupt sky-society.
This episode brings some much-needed chaotic energy to Gachiakuta. Compared to the emotional episode this episode has more action.
This episode takes a step back to look at the past of a character who feels average compared to the gifted people around them. It shows how self doubt can be as dangerous as any monster in the Trash world.
