Takuya observing her struggle through her professional crisis was a heavy way to bridge into the next part of the story

Her being under this much pressure makes the connection to the larger mystery feel way more urgent and personal than the previous episodes

Watching Ayumi deal with her career falling apart while Takuya tries to figure out his father's research made for a really tense atmosphere. I wasn't expecting this much focus on her internal crisis, but it grounded the sci-fi elements in a way that makes me care way more about what happens to her and her family in the end

That moment at the junction where everything starts falling apart for Ayumi really changed the whole tone and showed how her job is tied to the weird lights

I felt so bad for Ayumi because seeing her career fall apart while she tries to keep it together at home was genuinely stressful and it made the weird science stuff feel like it actually mattered

Toyotomi trying to swipe those documents makes him the most obvious villain yet and he is clearly taking advantage of Ayumi while she is down

That necklace Kanna was wearing looks like it belongs to some deep memory for Takuya and the music during that scene made it feel so heavy

Ayumi coming home drunk and crying really shows how much pressure she is under and the way the media is setting her up is purely evil

This episode was mostly just moving pieces around the board, and it felt a bit slow but you could tell the drama with Ayumi kept it interesting enough

Ryuuzouji acting weird and Kanna having that strange fever are clearly leading to something big and the mystery is building nicely

I cannot believe Takuya saw Toyotomi acting that suspicious and did nothing about it and he really needs to start using his head more or things will get her in more trouble

My heart really went out to Ayumi when she was stumbling home drunk, but seeing Takuya just take a beating without using his device frustrated me so much

The way those people egged Ayumi while she was already struggling at work was heartless and she does not deserve that kind of treatment

I felt so bad seeing Ayumi break down like that after such a rough day at the office and being egged by those people was just cruel and it makes me wonder why Takuya is just standing around instead of using that device to help her out because he could fix so much but he just lets things happen and lets her suffer instead of acting to save her from the stress

That reporter Kaori is definitely up to something shady and it seems like she arranged for Ayumi to get egged just for a headline

The parallel world stuff is starting to get really confusing in a good way because you never know which reality Takuya is actually stuck in and seeing Ayumi act so differently depending on where he ends up adds a lot of tension to their relationship plus the 90s aesthetic makes the whole sci-fi vibe feel super gritty and dark compared to newer stuff

That whole sequence at Ken Point felt so eerie with the music and the way the light shifted before that woman appeared out of nowhere

Seeing Takuya get that ring from the mysterious girl in the flash of light finally connected some dots for me and the sci-fi stuff is actually kind of cool

The way the story jumps between these different timelines makes the mystery about Takuya and his father feel way more complex than your average 90s adult flick

I really dig the old school 90s art style and that scene with Ayumi at the beach was so moody and well drawn

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off 'The Concerto of Strange Incontinuity,' which began pulling back the curtain on Sakaimachi's unsettling mysteries, this third episode redirects focus inward, using Ayumi's professional and personal crisis to deepen the emotional stakes before the finale. It bridges character motivation with the larger unresolved mystery, setting up 'The Goddess Sings at the Edge of the World' with clearer stakes and a sharper understanding of who these characters are under pressure.
