Synopsis
Still grieving his archaeologist father's disappearance, Takuya Arima finds his world upended further by a mysterious package showing up, sent by the man everyone assumes is dead. Inside is a strange device and a letter hinting that parallel worlds are real. Before Takuya can even process that, he witnesses a flash of light at a nearby construction site and an otherworldly woman slips a ring onto his finger. That ring, it turns out, is the key to jumping between alternate realities. Now he's untangling not just what happened to his father, but what's buried beneath the coastal town he grew up in, and how his stepmother's controversial construction project ties into all of it. Everything moved so quick that the whole parallel world tree explanation just flew over my head and now there are suddenly too many characters to track
That naked girl with the elf ears showing up out of nowhere after his dad sent that letter was easily the biggest mystery of the whole episode
I think the lightning strike at the end of the episode was such a weird way to start the time travel stuff and it felt way too fast for me to follow
The teacher wearing a garter belt in the middle of a school building is such a bold design choice and Takuya is not even trying to hide his eyes from her at all
Takuya talking to his teacher like that is so uncomfortable but then he acts all serious when it comes to his father and that reflector device thing
The way the episode shifted from a boring school comedy to a sci-fi mystery was pretty fast and the concept of parallel worlds has potential
I thought Takuya was just going to be a creep the whole time but that ending with the dimensional shift at the cliff really changed the energy
I was mostly bored by all the school intro stuff and the constant perverted jokes from Takuya, but the ending at Ken Point really saved it for me. That mysterious woman appearing from the light to give him the ring was a huge shift in tone, and I need to know why his father sent that package after he supposedly died.
Ayumi seems like she is hiding something about the accident and Takuya following her to the cliffs felt like the mystery was finally starting
That reflector device looks like it belongs in a different show and it really stands out against all the school drama scenes
The 90s visual novel energy is so strong with these jokes, and Takuya asking his teacher out was such a weird way to start the show.
That elf girl showing up out of nowhere to kiss Takuya was so random and now he has that weird ring on his finger
Takuya finding that package from his dead dad was a huge moment and the lightning at the end actually made the slow start worth it
My head is spinning because this feels like Steins Gate but apparently the original game came out way before and I wonder if Takuya is always this gross

My brain was kind of melting with all the sci-fi stuff and then the adult content started and I did not expect it to be that graphic right away
