That line about being related to the same father really changed how those scenes felt, especially with the sci-fi stuff starting to connect to the family drama

Seeing Takuya get dragged to Geo Technics by that mysterious girl was such a shift in energy and now the mystery about what his father was actually researching is finally starting to pick up

I think that warning about the black light leading to destruction was a total shock and it makes me wonder what kind of mess Takuya is actually getting himself into with the ring

That blonde figure in the vision is definitely going to be important and the part about her and Takuya having the same father makes the family tree stuff so confusing and weird

Wait I did not expect that vision Canna had with Miyo to actually be that important for the plot, and that blonde girl mentioned her father and now I am wondering if she is related to Takuya and what that even means for the timeline, and the warning about the black light leading to destruction feels like things are about to get really dark soon

It is wild how much this show influenced later series about changing the past and even though the porn parts are distracting the actual sci-fi mechanics are surprisingly solid

The detail about how he can only go back to specific save points makes every move feel like a huge gamble and seeing him fail the first few times was brutal

I think the concept of the blue light being the safe path is such a classic sci-fi trope, but it works so well here when the thugs are closing in on the house.

The visuals of the parallel worlds shifting look so trippy and that weird blonde woman appearing out of nowhere gives off such a creepy vibe that I cannot shake off

Watching Takuya act like a total pervert right after trying to be a hero is such a weird tonal shift and it makes it hard to actually root for him sometimes

The mystery with his dad is getting so deep and that cryptic warning about the black light leading to destruction makes me wonder what happened to him at the research site

I feel like the erotic stuff got in the way of the actual time travel plot and watching Takuya fail over and over again while trying to save his stepmother was just frustrating

Takuya using that device to jump back and keep Ayumi safe from those thugs was so cool and that blonde lady giving him advice about the blue light is stuck in my head

That reflector thing is such a wild concept for an older show and seeing how you keep items when you reset makes the stakes feel way more interesting

The way the different timelines are starting to branch out reminds me so much of the stuff you see in modern time travel shows but this did it way back in the nineties. My favorite part was the tension when those guys were cornering Ayumi because Takuya really had to figure out the right path before it was too late for her.

i keep thinking about that scene with the thugs and how dark this show is compared to the new version and it was wild when he realized he can just reset everything whenever he messes up

It was brutal watching Takuya fail to save Ayumi over and over again, but the way he eventually gets help from his colleague was a nice twist

this is a total mess compared to the visual novel and they changed way too much for the sake of being edgy and the animation is kind of rough and the pacing feels really off during the thug fight

takuya is such a creep but i guess that is the point when you give a teenage boy a time machine and using it for perverted stuff is exactly what you would expect from this era of anime

the concept of the reflector device is so cool and it lets him set save points like a video game and seeing him figure out that items stay with him across worlds was really interesting

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly after the series opener, this episode shifts from establishing the premise to actively complicating it — Takuya's early experiences now carry weight as new cryptic elements challenge his understanding of what's real. Positioned at the midpoint of this four-episode run, it functions as a critical bridge, converting the first episode's setup into the momentum that the back half will need to resolve. What gets introduced here in terms of character tension and mysterious forces appears designed to pay off in episodes three and four.
