The Dangers in My Heart
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A self-proclaimed middle school edgelord, Kyoutarou Ichikawa spends his days fantasizing about murdering his classmate Anna Yamada. That's his whole deal; he reads morbid books in the library, thinks he's the dangerous loner protagonist of some thriller, and mentally plots Yamada's demise. There's just one problem: Yamada keeps showing up in the library too, and she's kind of a lovable weirdo. She sneaks snacks, makes a mess, and is way less put-together than her tall, model-pretty exterior suggests. Ichikawa's dark fantasies quietly start losing ground to something he's not ready to name. This 12-episode TV series from Shin-Ei Animation is a slow-burn romance disguised as a comedy about a kid who thinks he's unhinged. The real hook is how genuinely well it handles the shift from Ichikawa's cringey self-image to actual emotional vulnerability. You watch him slowly realize that his "dangerous heart" is just a crush, and it's both funny and weirdly touching. Yamada isn't a shallow love interest either; she's got her own insecurities and quirks that come through in small, well-observed moments. If you liked the awkward tenderness of Horimiya or the slow relationship building in Komi Can't Communicate, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's also got some of that My Little Monster energy where the "scary" lead is really just emotionally stunted. Based on a shounen manga, it nails that middle school atmosphere: everything feels huge when you're thirteen, and the show respects that without making fun of it.

6.5/10. Cute but too much will they won't they.
Yamada action in the rain is so cute like she wants Invite Ichikawa going home together when it rains but Ichikawa uses the raincoat ends up not coming home with him.
This was certainly a big leap in their connection. This is definitely one of the cutest anime’s I have seen and has the main leads having undeniable chemistry. Everything was perfect, even for a hug.
I’ve never seen something more charming and me wanting to yell out “get together” more than this. Kyotaro and Anna need to confess and I hope we see that soon. The animation and music are well done and so far has been amazing. This series deserves to be watched more.
I have never wanted a shy guy to confess to his crush more than this. Kyotaro is now holding hands with Anna and she definitely doesn’t mind at all. Glad to see them grow more closer.
This one tugged on my heartstrings so much. The scene where Anna was crying and hugging Kyotaro was done so good. I’m glad they rid of any negative thoughts and continue to talk to one another.
This episode was of course adorable, especially by the end when Kyotaro felt ill and needed rest. His dreams were wild and funny, definitely shows how fond he has grown of her.
Another great installment for this season. Kyotaro is certainly growing more fond of Anna. The seating arrangement changes were great to see how they all interacted with one another.
This episode was another heartwarming one. Kyotaro certainly keeps saving Anna from being caught with snacks and added for chemistry to the pair. Him holding her hand closed was peak romance so far and the art for it was great.
This was a great episode, Kyotaro is somewhat growing closer to Anna and it was cool they visited a manga publisher. Everything else was on par for the animation, music and comedy from the secondary characters.
Kyotaro is certainly finding more feelings for Anna. The more I watch this, the more I want them to be together. By the end, their chemistry is really good with how they want to be called and the cute animation and music compliments it so well.
This episode is my favorite so far. Kyotaro finally admits to himself of his feelings and wants to simply support Anna after her nose getting hit. The music and light animation really made the scenes more sad and heartwarming. Can’t wait to see what happens next?
The more this goes on, the more I ship Kyotaro and Anna. The comedy and heartwarming touches are so good, it’s a slice of life anime as well. Can’t wait to see what Kyotaro does next to approach Anna.
This anime certainly was a surprise. Seeing someone like Kyotaro try to talk to someone like Anna was very wholesome and funny. The animation was a cute style and the music was very comforting and upbeat. This was a great introduction to see a shy guy try to open up more.
Ichikawa starts to see that Yamada isn’t as different from him as he thought. Small talks and shared habits bring them closer. It’s a quiet episode about understanding each other better and realizing they might be more alike than they seem.
Ichikawa and Yamada spend most valuable time together by walking slowly intentionally. This shows their genuine relationship. The space between them feels warm, not tense.
Kyotaro dreams big about Anna. Small moments carry big meaning, making the romance feel more honest and heartfelt. A silent episode where feelings grow more stronger.
In this episode, I saw Ichikawa feels jealous when he sees Yamada talking to other boys. This episode shows how much he really cares about her.
This episode gives a sweet climax in Kyotaro and Anna's bond. . It ends on a hopeful note with mutual understanding.
This episode is soft and sweet with tiny interactions say more than big actions. According to me, awkward reactions and quiet thoughts show how much their bond is growing.
