Synopsis
In a society where 80% of people have superpowers called Quirks, Izuku Midoriya is part of the unlucky 20% who got nothing. Zero powers, zero prospects, just a notebook full of obsessive hero analysis and a dream that everyone around him considers delusional. His idol is All Might, the greatest hero alive: think Superman if Superman had a signature smile and a mysterious secret he's hiding from the public. When Izuku crosses paths with All Might under unexpected circumstances, everything he thought he knew about heroes and what it takes to become one gets turned upside down. That's the first two episodes, and honestly, they hit harder emotionally than you'd expect from a shounen setup. The real draw here is how grounded Izuku feels as a protagonist. He's not special because of some hidden bloodline or latent power, but he's a kid who cries a lot and refuses to give up, and Bones animates his journey with the kind of fluid, expressive action sequences that make you rewind fights just to catch the details. The soundtrack knows exactly when to swell. If you liked Black Clover's underdog energy but want tighter pacing across 13 episodes, or if One Punch Man made you love the idea of hero society but you want someone who actually struggles, this is the one. It's a coming-of-age story that just happens to involve superpowers, and it earns every emotional beat.

Lurve the plot
My first ever anime. Watched it when I was in the 4th grade. Loved it then love it now. Definitely recommended
based
I loved My Hero Academia I would recommend it to anyone who is asking for an anime to start off with it was my first anime I had ever watched and overall it's very good the tension between bakugo and deku was so good and on seasons 6 - 8 is where i cried the most :( But I woukd definitely want to watch it for the first time again!
Best new gen, might only be surpassed if Vinland/jjk is done right
The first season is really good; it sets up the world and the characters in a way where you are really rooting for them all. We get to see the overall conflict from the very first episode - villains wanting All Might dead. The season finale did a great job at showing what happened and how the Heroes responded to the threat.
that the best anime im ever see
One of the animes I grew up on, but I think I liked the manga better (I think I like the mangas better than the animes Lmao)
Bakubae is love
perfect ending to the forst season - a clifhanger entices more curiosity about what's to come
yayy all might !!
I love iida
I love the class - and all might as a teacher.
Izuku will always be stronger than Bakugou.
He got in !!!
The very start of the entrance exam for UA. Love meeting the new characters, even if it's just seeing them without knowing who they are.
This episode captures Izuku and Bakugo's personality but also shows what type of people they are. Bakugou is aggressive towards things he doesn't understand, and Izuku is determined to become something more.
The perfect first episode - it sets up everything.
I had a great time watching this episode! It completely subverted my expectations. Naturally you'd expect the main character to pass with flying colours. However, he scored 0 combat points and "barely passed the written exam." I really enjoy this episode, it further explored what makes a true hero and why Midoriya is very capable of being a hero. I enjoy that his quirk is very overpowered, but has drastic consequences for usage. It provides interesting depth to his character. I enjoyed that UA provided a twist in the exam, because heroism is much more than defeating villains. Midoriya's fear for failure really affected me. It's by far the most emotional scene so far.
Excellent episode! I really liked how Midoriya's hardworking nature is expressed through this episode. This episode spans over ten months of montaging Midoriya's training. I love to see a perseverant MC! :D The serious nature of Midoriya's inner monologue combined with All Mights "eat this" made me laugh. The scene were All Might discovers Midoriya is overworking himself could have been made more emotional, especially the line where he says "I have to work harder than anyone else!" I feel it could've been stronger and lasted a little longer. I love how it emphasises that even though he's gone through a lot of intense training, he's still the same nerdy fan boy. Midoriya is very loveable.
