Love Tyrant
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When a strange girl named Guri comes knocking at Seiji Aino's door, he quickly finds himself thrust into a world of romantic troubles. Claiming that she will die if he doesn't kiss someone within 24 hours, Guri's pleas of desperation are misunderstood as pleas for love, leading Seiji to kiss the cute stranger that came barging into his house. In actuality, it turns out that this cosplaying cupid is the wielder of a Kiss Note, in which any pairing of names she writes will kiss and become a couple. Guri explains that she misspelt and accidentally wrote Seiji's name while indulging in her yaoi fantasies, but because she had yet to pair him with anyone, their kiss was meaningless. Even worse, Guri reveals that if Seiji is not coupled with anyone soon, not only will she die, but Seiji will remain a virgin for eternity! Eager to escape his fate, Seiji sets his sights on the beautiful and popular Akane Hiyama. But after Akane hears that he kissed Guri, she reveals the obsessive and psychopathic feelings that she holds for the unfortunate boy and proceeds to viciously attack them. In the ensuing confusion, Guri is able to pair Seiji with Akane in the Kiss Note, temporarily saving Seiji from any further bodily harm. But to complicate matters, Guri's newfound feelings lead her to also pair the two of them with herself. Just when the situation could not get any more convoluted, this new coupling with Guri has turned Seiji and Akane into temporary angels, forcing them into assisting the cupid with her work of pairing humans, lest they be cast into hell. With all semblance of normality snatched from his life, Seiji gets to work at matchmaking with these eccentric girls by his side.

Love Tyrant dives face‑first into rom‑com chaos with the Kiss Note — basically Death Note’s goofy cousin that doesn’t kill you, just forces you into instant romance. Enter Guri, a self‑absorbed angel who treats matchmaking like a prank show, and poor Seiji Aino, an ordinary high schooler suddenly trapped in a polygamous love web featuring yandere girls, demons, and more slapstick than a Saturday morning cartoon. The series is pure parody energy: harem tropes cranked to eleven, romantic clichés exaggerated until they collapse under their own weight, and enough chaos to make Cupid file for early retirement. It’s loud, ridiculous, and surprisingly sweet in between the explosions of comedy. For fans of unhinged rom‑com anime, Love Tyrant is less a show and more a rollercoaster — one that’s powered entirely by yandere chaos and bad decisions.
This finale is... fine. It's not great, but it's not terrible. The show sets up a dramatic conflict and then resolves it in the most Love Tyrant way possible messily, chaotically, and without much explanation.Guri losing her powers is a genuine emotional beat, and her decision to intervene despite being powerless is a nice moment of character growth. Shikimi is a effective villain, but her defeat feels rushed.
Seiji's World War II line is the funniest moment of the episode. After everything he's been through, he's earned the right to be dramatic. The slumber party is a fun excuse to get all the characters in one place, and the chaos that ensues is exactly what you'd expect from this show.
This is a strong episode. The play is a chaotic mess, but it's also surprisingly sweet. Yuzu's confession I'll marry you, someday is delivered perfectly, and it's clear that the show is finally taking her character seriously. The memory loss plot is resolved for now, and Akane is back to full strength. Seiji, as always, is just along for the ride.
This is the best episode of the series so far.The show has always been chaotic and absurd, but this episode proves it can do genuine drama when it wants to. Akane's confusion and fear are palpable. Watching her struggle to hold onto her feelings for Seiji while her own mind betrays her is uncomfortable in the best way.
Guri's character development is the highlight. She's not just a chaotic gremlin anymore she's actually developing feelings for Seiji. The park bench scene is surprisingly tender, and it's nice to see the show take a moment to breathe.he episode does feel a bit slow. The festival setting is fun, but not much actually happens. The stranger is clearly a red herring , and Guri's realization is sweet but predictable.
This is probably the best episode of the series so far. The beach segment is fun and fanservice-y, but the real meat is in the forest sequence. The ghost story is surprisingly effective the tragic backstory of the two lovers is genuinely moving, and Guri's solution is weirdly beautiful. It's absurd, yes, but it also shows that Guri isn't just a chaotic gremlin. If you're here for fanservice and chaos, Episode 7 delivers. If you're here for the harem dynamics, you might be disappointed. But for my view, this is the show at its best weird, dark, and unexpectedly heartfelt.
This episode is a mixed bag, The Hiyama family drama is actually kind of interesting Akane's mom being a fellow yandere explains a lot about where Akane got her tendencies. The apple rose carving is a striking visual, and the tragic romance between Kuzuha and her husband has some genuine pathos. If you're here for the chaos, you'll enjoy this episode. If you're hoping for meaningful character development, you'll be disappointed.
Honestly, this episode is a bit of a letdown after the introduction of Shikimi. The flashback doesn't give us anything new Akane has always been yandere, Seiji has always been passive, and that's basically it. I was hoping for some insight into why Seiji puts up with her, but the episode just shrugs and moves on.
This episode is split into two halves Yuzu's drama and the introduction of Shikimi. The Yuzu stuff is actually kind of sweet, which is weird for this show. The Shikimi stuff is setting up a new antagonist. The jokes are still fast, The tone is all over the place.
Look, this episode is a mess, but it's an entertaining mess. The two halves feel like completely different stories awkwardly stitched together first a demon penguin chase, then a date episode with a burning notebook. The pacing is all over the place, and the resolution is so shamelessly anti-climactic that it almost feels like the show is trolling its audience. And yet... I wasn't bored. Guri remains the best part of the series, her dopey but endearing personality carrying the comedy even when the plot makes no sense.
This episode continues the show's breakneck pace. Jokes come at you rapid fire Akane's violent outbursts, Guri's casual chaos, Yuzu's creepy sister obsession. The Death Note parody is less obvious this episode, but the absurdist humor is still front and center.
Props to the show for keeping everyone strictly in character but man, this episode proves a major point. When you take the comedy out of a gag anime it drains all the magic. It just loses that special charm.
Honestly, this was such a satisfying way to wrap up a harem setup. Its easily one of the few execution styles that actually works. The whole episode was a wonderfully chaotic ride. I love how completely off the rails the show allowed itself to get and all while managing to pull the narrative threads together for a solid and cohesive finale
What I really enjoy is how the series fully embraces its own cliches and absurdity instead of holding back. It just leaning into them completely. On top of that, the fast-paced editing and energetic direction match the rapid storytelling really well, making the whole episode feel tight, lively and surprisingly satisfying to watch.
Nothing that happened this time really made sense but I can’t even complain because it was still entertaining. And at this point, it feels like Shikimi is basically there just to move the plot forward. She is like the kind of character every show has who exists purely to push things along.
For such a silly show, I really appreciate that it still gives explanations for everything that happens. Somehow, it even manages to prove that every girl can be the best girl in her own way.
It’s always interesting to see moments of seriousness mixed in with all the comedy. I also found Akane’s feelings for Seiji quite touching. It was a really sweet development overall.
This anime is total chao and honestly I love it for that. Everything about it leans into clichés and tropes. But it turns them into something genuinely funny and entertaining.
I was honestly surprised they didn’t go with the typical harem route and just add her into the mix. It makes me curious about how much of the series is meant as parody versus how much will follow its own serious direction. I’m also looking forward to seeing the mom they mentioned and hopefully getting more backstory as well.
