Your Spring 2026 Watchlist Isn't Full Yet: 3 More Must-Watch Anime

Is your Spring 2026 anime list truly complete? We review 3 major contenders and one massive 'surprise' series that might just be the show of the season.
In the previous review guide, I shared the best titles for Spring 2026, including Witch Hat Atelier, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, Nippon Sangoku, and MAO. All of them are great and definitely worth your time. I strongly believe that review guide wonât lead you wrong; however, since all of them have only released three episodes, it is still easy to catch up.
For those who have already caught up with the "Big Four," this post is exactly what you need. Spring 2026 is an incredible season for anime lovers; beyond those major titles, there are even more hidden gems waiting to be discovered. After trying them out myself, I feel these series are equally great and well worth your time.
Please rest assured, I understand your concerns. Although the titles I am sharing in this post are adaptations, I won't be sharing any spoilers. I really hope everyone gives these series a try, so I will only be providing the minimum information necessary. My focus will be on my personal thoughts rather than plot details, so you don't have to worry about spoilers.

The First Hidden Gem: Kill Blue
The first anime I want to share with everyone is Kill Blue, also known as Kill Ao. Kill Blue aired its first episode on April 11, 2026, and its second episode on April 18, 2026. As the name suggests, Kill Blue is an assassin-themed anime. You might not have heard of this work before, but you probably know the author.
Kill Blue was created by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, the mangaka known for the popular basketball series Kuroko's Basketball. If you have watched Kurokoâs Basketball, or are even a fan of it, you will notice that Tetsuya Kuroko looks very similar to the main character of Kill Blue, specifically the young version of Juzo Ogami.
Although Kill Blue is an assassin-themed anime, the plot is surprisingly simple yet fun. As I want everyone to give Kill Blue a try, I wonât be sharing any spoilers in this postâIâll only share one sentence about the plot. Even though the main character, Juzo Ogami, has turned into a 13-year-old kid for some reason, he still receives jobs from his boss and is forced to start a new school life for a specific reason.
Compared to the âBig Fourâ I shared in my previous post, Kill Blue has a much simpler plot; if you have watched the first episode, you can already guess what will happen next. While the storyline is fairly straightforward, the anime is really funny, and the character interactions are actually quite good. If you are looking for a deep, complex story, the âBig Fourâ is still your best bet, but if you want something fun that doesn't require any "homework," Kill Blue is exactly what you need.

The Second Hidden Gem: Petals of Reincarnation
The second anime I want to share with everyone is Petals of Reincarnation, also known as Reincarnation no Kaben. Although the name is a bit unusual compared to the other titles Iâve shared, it is actually a great dark, supernatural action anime. Petals of Reincarnation aired its first episode on April 2, 2026, followed by Episode 2 on April 9, and its latest release, Episode 3, on April 16, 2026.
Unlike the previous title, Kill Blue, Petals of Reincarnation has a more complex but interesting plot. The story is set in a world where people can obtain talents from their past lives using a special short knife. With this specific knife, characters gain different types of talentsâessentially superpowersâbased on who they were in the past. Currently, the characters are divided into two groups: one that uses their talents to help humanity, and another that uses them for their own gain. This conflict has led to an ongoing war.
Even compared to the âBig Fourâ I shared in my previous post, the story of Petals of Reincarnation is dark yet fascinating. It is hard to paint a full picture of the story with words alone, but please trust me and give it a try. You might not love the story right at the startâpersonally, I found the first episode a bit boringâbut since the anime has such a fast pace, it won't take long to reach the scenes and storylines you'll enjoy.
When I watched Episodes 1 and 2, I actually found them quite boring, but after Episode 3, I had a completely different thought because the story became so interesting. It is hard to believe that a show could change so much in just one episode, but since Petals of Reincarnation has such a fast pace, the story evolves before you have a chance to get bored. For those looking for an amazing story after watching the âBig Four,â Petals of Reincarnation is definitely for you. However, no anime is perfect; the animation in Petals of Reincarnation isn't that impressive. If you are strictly looking for high-quality animation, this might not be the title you need.

The Third Hidden Gem: Kusunoki's Garden of Gods
The third anime I want to share with everyone is Kusunoki's Garden of Gods, also known as Kami no Niwatsuki Kusunoki-tei. Similar to the first title I shared in this post, Kusunoki's Garden of Gods is a funny anime with a simple plot, much like Kill Blue. Kusunoki's Garden of Gods aired its first episode on April 4, 2026, Episode 2 on April 11, and its latest release, Episode 3, on April 18, 2026.
The story of Kusunoki's Garden of Gods is quite simple; it is basically about the main character, Minato Kusunoki, having all kinds of gods staying in his houseâjust as the title suggests. You may be surprised by that description, but after watching every episode myself, I can responsibly tell everyone that the plot really is that straightforward. From a storytelling perspective, Kusunoki's Garden of Gods has the simplest plot of the bunch, but it is still a very fun anime to watch.
How can an anime with such a simple plot be good? Well, Kusunoki's Garden of Gods is quite similar to Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill (also known as Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi). The story doesnât really have any intense "spice" to make it more dramatic; instead, it focuses heavily on the characters and Kusunokiâs daily life with the gods.
Just as Mukoda Tsuyoshi spent his time cooking and enjoying life throughout Campfire Cooking, Kusunoki is always chilling and enjoying life with the gods in every episode. This anime is very similar to Campfire Cooking; if you are a fan of that series, or if you prefer "slow life" anime with no intense dramaâjust chilling all dayâthen Kusunoki's Garden of Gods is for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a deep or complex story, this might not be what you want, but I still suggest giving it a try. Kusunoki's Garden of Gods doesn't really rely on a heavy plot; when you watch it, you don't need to think about anything. You can simply settle into the "slow life" and enjoy it as much as you want.

The Last Hidden Gem: The Wildcard - Snowball Earth
Thank you for reading this post! Before you leave, there is one more title I want to share with everyone: the wildcard of this post, Snowball Earth. Compared to any other title mentioned here, I personally feel Snowball Earth is the best one and has the most amazing plot. Snowball Earth aired its first episode on April 3, 2026, its second episode on April 10, 2026, and its latest release, Episode 3, aired on April 17, 2026.
Before watching it, I thought Snowball Earth was a sports anime and that the main character, Tetsuo Yabusame, was going to play ice hockey. After watching it, I realized I was completely wrong and laughed at myself! Snowball Earth isnât a sports anime; it is an amazing Mecha anime focused on fighting Kaijus that have come from outer space.
Because I want everyone to watch Snowball Earth and don't want to spoil too much, I'll just say this: the story focuses on Tetsuo as he begins a tremendous journey with his partner, Yukioâa giant autonomous robotâto save humanity from the Kaijus. In the world of Snowball Earth, the planet was once invaded by many Kaijus, but thanks to the team of Tetsuo and Yukio, every Kaiju on Earth was defeated... until an unfortunate incident happened.
Snowball Earth is truly an amazing anime. Even within just three episodes, it has given us a great story, character development, intense battles with Kaijus, and most importantly, touching moments. While other series are busy with world-building and explanations, Snowball Earth has already delivered the emotional impact we needâI even had tears! After watching every episode myself, I am deeply satisfied and excited for the next one. Snowball Earth has everything we look for in an anime; therefore, I suggest it for all types of viewers. It really suits everyoneâhowever, if you feel youâve "outgrown" Mecha and Kaijus, this might not be for you, as it is definitely a great Mecha series rather than a sports anime.

Conclusion:
Once again, thank you for reading! In this post, I have shared several titles beyond the âBig Four,â and I am almost certain you will have a great Spring this year since you have so many shows to watch. While I could rate these anime myself, I feel that ratings aren't always useful for everyone; different people look for different things in a series. So, instead of using a rating system, Iâve focused on who each title will suit and who it might not.
