This episode focused more on learning about the history behind the third year's previous year experience at the Inter-High and how the Hakone team captain and captain know each other. It's an interesting and honestly realistic story that you would not expect to come out in a sports anime. However, the truth of the matter is that it did happen. And seeing it happen and seeing the consequences and seeing the aftermath really does put into perspective why the third years are so focused on winning the Inter-High this year.
Honestly, this episode gave the competition much more emotional weight. Learning about the experiences that shaped these riders made me understand why winning means so much to them. Rivalries built on respect are always more enjoyable to watch, and this episode captured that feeling really well.
Everything makes sense now. This episode showed the backstory of the previous Inter-High road race. The race is intense, and I don't like Fukutomi's overconfidence. What a jaw-dropping moment. Sorry doesn't bring back what happened. Now I do want to see the rematch in this year's Inter-High's road race.
