Wash It All Away
Oshimeter
Synopsis
In the seaside town of Atami, Wakana Kinme runs a laundry service. That's basically the whole premise, and it's way more compelling than it sounds. See, Wakana has no memory of her own past — nothing before two years ago when she settled here. But she's built this quiet, grounded life washing clothes for the locals, soaking in hot springs, and forming the kind of low-key friendships that make a place feel like home. The twist is that while she can't hold onto her own memories, her work preserves other people's — every stain she removes, every garment she restores carries someone's story with it. It's a gentle contradiction that sits underneath the whole show without ever being heavy-handed about it. This 12-episode TV series from Okuruto Noboru looks gorgeous. The art captures Atami with this warm, detailed style that makes you feel the salt air and afternoon light. The soundtrack leans into that same energy — unhurried and immersive. If you liked the rural community warmth of Barakamon or the way Amanchu! makes you want to just exist in its world for a while, this hits a similar nerve. Fans of Aria the Animation will recognize that meditative pacing where nothing dramatic happens but you still don't want to look away. It's a seinen slice-of-life adapted from a manga, and it's the kind of show you watch when you need something that actually feels restorative rather than just distracting.

This is lowkey such an amazing series. The visuals and art style are really nice, and it’s just satisfying to watch. The story is actually super engaging too. It keeps you interested and makes you want to keep going. Yeah, it has its slow episodes, which is very common to a SoL series, but I can assure you that these episodes are nevertheless great and fun to watch. Overall, it’s just a really enjoyable series that’s easy to get into and hard to stop watching. I rate this series 8/10! Give it a try! If you like SoL, this is for you P.S. Kinme is a top-tier waifu :)
Honestly, Kinme really deserves all the appreciation and attention from the local community. She’s so kind and down-to-earth. Happy anniversary to Kinme Cleaning!! May you always be at the forefront of your work.
